Using the SCK - must disable plugin files?

I downloaded Schlongs of Skyrim and a female body replacer a while back. I just recently started figuring out what the Creation Kit is and how to use it. I went in to try and edit a Breton to make a new NPC when I noticed that he had a penis. I distinctly remember the lack of penises in the Vanilla version of the game. When I go to check-off the Skyrim.esm file from the Data folder to start using the CK, all of my other plugins are unchecked, but when I go to edit an NPC, they are still using the naked body replacers supplied by their respective mods.

I want to be able to put a mod on the Nexus some day, but I don't want to say that people have to download SoS or something just to use it. Do I need to go in and deactivate every mod like this to make sure that others can play by just having the Vanilla game or is it okay to carry on even though these mods' alterations show up in the SCK?

Thanks, guys!

I'm not that familiar with the CK, but I would guess it loads just like the game. That is, replaced loose files (meshes, textures) might overide vanilla assets. Vanilla Skyrim does not have either "meshes" or "textures" directories in the Skyrim\Data folder.

Try renaming the meshes and textures directories to something else (meshes.sav, textures.sav), fire up the CK and select only vanilla Data files. If the appendage in question goes away, the CK is referencing loose files. Just rename the directories back to play. You may have to setup a vanilla Skyrim just for modding.

If Lord Garon's description of the problem is accurate, the custom mesh most likely will not be included when you go to create your .bsa file. If it is, you can simply delete it from the list of files to be archived. Then you will not have to tell people that it is required because the game will simply use whatever version of the male body is available on the user's machine.

Don't assume its accurate. It "seems" like a good guess to me, but I've been 854% wrong more than once.

I rarely use the CK. Best to TEST, or post a question in the Modding forums.

@Ishara; thanks, I wasn't positive how the CK treated loose files. Pretty much the same way as the game, I guess.

Yeah, renaming the directories was just to test whether or not the CK was actually reading them.
