Random CTDs and physics issues

Hi guys! I've been having continual crashes randomly occuring with my Skyrim. I've installed and uninstalled scripts and mods to help, even fresh installing my game 3 times and i keep having problems. I HAD the Skyrim physics engine installed at one stage but even with no mods installed the physics engine alone caused my game to crash EVERYWHERE! So i removed it and did a fresh install of Skyrim and im still having issues. Can somebody please tell me what the heck my problem is so i can fix it? Thanks alot! I'll be content with just being able to use my mods but if you can think of a way to have my mods AND the physics without crashing that would be amazing. :3

How did you make a fresh install? If you did not use the STEP Guide revert to vanilla skyrim method, you are probably still looking at remnants from old games.

I've done all that each time i reinstalled and its fine as a Vanilla game. However whenever i put in mods or the physics engine i get random ctds. Could it be something to do with the SKSE?

What do you mean when you "put in" the physics engine? Do you mean a mod of some kind?

 

The problem certainly isn't SKSE itself

There is an extension called the HDT Physics Engine that enables physics to hair, breasts among other things, etc.

don't use the physics extension and try it with just your mods.

I am currently NOT using the physics extension and I'm having CTDs. When i posted this thread the physics were not installed.

Some questions that might help us out. What video card are you using, are you following the instruction ov each mod in regards to load order, Skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs input and any MoD that it may not run well with? Have you ran a program called BOSS? If you dont know BOSS tweaks load order, which may be part of the issue.

 

An if the card is good and you been following instructions and running Boss the only other advice would be to install 1 MoD at a time to find the 1 thats causing system issues.

I am using an NVIDIA video card. Thats all i know. I could ask my dad for specifications. I've used BOSS to get the basic load order down then i've adjusted ones with specified instructions as per the decription or the readme.

Have you followed Gophers "Skyrim Mod Sanctuary 84", it talks about testing and increasing the games memory issue, might be another thing to check into. Other then that all I can say is to do a fresh install, run the most important mods like unoffical patches, official texture patches and the unofficial texture patch and then play for a bit and see if it crashes, then slowly add in another MoD or 2 an test it some more.

 

I usually install 1 or 2 mods then play for a bit, its a lot easier to find the MoD causing it that way then to stall 5+ and its a lot easier to fix 1 line in the Ini or prefs folder then 10.
