Hi all,

 

I have strange a issue. I have read about skyrim stuttering, and mine is not quite like that. It is not the micro hardly noticable stutter, It is massive, a second stop, like if you would watch old movies, or would be in disco, underneath the stroboscope. It is repeating very precisely at the same time , like a rythm.

 

It is occurring near cities,( when I get close) after load, or transition. Sometimes it wont stop, until I leave the area. Sometimes I just need to wait like 10- 15 sec and it will stop. What is really strange is when I get this "stutter" and I wait, or leave the area, and come back it is completely smooth. I can run all the way back where I got the stutter, smooth as butter.

 

It is a bit complicated, because I have around 400 mods, amongst them:

 

populated cities,

interesting npcs,

inconsistent npcs,

civil war overhaul,

flora overhaul, or something like that

hd textures,

unofficial ones

also HD lod.

 

But...

 

I never had problem like that before I am playing with this setup for months now.

I am sure they not causing the issues.

Also when it is not stuttering very smooth and fast. So clearly no performance related the issue.

For example I can get stutter on my way to Markath where is 3 guard (Markath can be seen from the distance(this is when stutter starting) and on the other hand I wont get stutter in the bannered mare when I have at least 20-25 npc crowded and interacting with everything...

 

NO mods wich alter cities, apart from Solitude, but I haven`t checked that city yet.

 

My spec:

 

I7 4700k proc

Asus hero mb

8gb ram,

2x R9 290X crossfire,

SSD drive.

 

As you can see I don`t think the problem would be with cpu/gpu (not enough power, memory).

 

I am using MO, SSME SKSE 1.7, BOSS (all mods sorted by boss)

on my saves savegame cleaner tool/ scapel (both)

 

I checked my papyrus log, nothing is spamming. OF course I have some errors, but none of them spamming countionusly.

 

Anybody have any idea what is going on?

also, grab the skyrim configurator from the nexus downloads, fire it up and tick every box you find that says "threaded".

 

might also be good to add the following lines to the skyrimprefs.ini:

I have 255 proper mods with esp/esms + texures and meshes, replacers without esps. MO says I got 446 mods active, up and running. Yeah it is sometimes crazy when I have to find out which mod is causing trouble.

I just revised the inis from this guide http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50244/

 

It says I should NOT tinker with papyrus settings. Should I?

I am just tinking, I manually implemented Sheson memory patch into the skse loader, and now I just using SKSE 1.7 wich claims SSME is implemented in it...can that cause stuttering? Or one is override the other?

 

The other thing is Iam thinking I got Realvision ENB wichis says in the ENB menu ingame that Vsync is enabled.

Also, I edited the skyrim.ini and put iPresentInterval=1 in it.

They are not conflicting? Cos you can turn them on at both places....and they are on at both places.

I had a look at your guide, and I can`t see anything on the webpage just the forum discussion.

Maybe just my in-work-computer what I am using now, not showing webpages properly due to the filters.

it's just one of those generic warnings, make a back up of the ini file and if anything does occur, just swap back to the original, i always use it and never had a single issue.

 

SKSE 1.7 is great, it has the ssme patcher thing it, well worth it, it'll override the older versions, probably a good idea to get the ugridstoload patch as well, it won't solve your issue, but make the game just that little more stable.

 

i'm not sure in the ENB menu (i have a laptop that isn't quite powerful enough to run ens) but you need to turn vsync off/on from outside of the game as far as i remember, some people play with t off, some people play with it on, it depends on if your computer plays ball.. skyrim is known to throw fits when vsync is deactivated and you get a constant fps over 60.

 

Yeah, probably your filters, it a 12 odd page guide with a rop down box to select the category you wish to read, well worth a read when you get home.

Oh yeah,

 

My UGRID is set to 7.

Some guys says I would be better with 5, cos higher UGRID settings can cause stutter and long load times.

I will try to play with pap settings, so what is with Vsync then?

Wich is better off or on? As I can see I don`t have any issues with fps as on ingame Realvision control panel you can set your fps limiter and I limited mine at 60 for exactly the same reason.

I am just worried it is maybe enabled twice or whatever. (and maybe I don`t need at all?)

So SKSE Sheson patch will be overrided by SKSE 1.7 without any issue? I wont touch it then.

 

 

I just had a little read, and they say even if you have a gpu with 4GB, it can be overloaded with textures (4k, 2k).

I will try to play with all of those above, but the other thing what I can think about is the High definition LOD, maybe it was too much for my poor GPUs with all of those shiny, glittery high resolution everythingies (trees, sky, grass,parallax roads, walls +ENB max settings) together...

You're running a lot of mods that add NPCs. That alone can easily cause lag. Could we see a full BOSS log?

 

Also, altering anything under the [Papyrus] section in your .ini files is a bad idea.
