I swear to god whatever I have done to my game, it is enacting revenge on me. So many f***ing bugs.

In this edition of "Haze's Game is Broken", I finished the quest Proving Honor. And by 'finished it', I mean the end of Dustman's Cairn didn't do anything (none of the coffins broke open when I took the fragment, and I couldn't get the word off the wordwall, which seems to be common with my game. I just look up the corresponding word and use player.teachword to get around that) so I TCL'ed out of the secret entrance. Now Skjor refuses to talk to me, and whenever I try to talk to him, Aelia or Kodlak, it just says "This person is busy."

I think my game is like a dying animal, begging to be killed, and for every moment that I don't, it enacts bothersome revenge upon me.

My characters have invisible neckseams that I can do nothing to fix, scripts seem to fail to trigger sometimes (there are long periods for which I go that I can activate nothing and no dialogues show up. For instance, I'll try to activate a standing stone and it does nothing and gives me no dialogue, or I'll try to open a barred door and it won't tell me it's barred.) When I die, ALL OF THAT STUFF HAPPENS AT ONCE. All the dialogue that backed up shows up at once and any options I opened will show up. Characters die in weird poses where I need to hit them one more time to kill them; they're static and unanimated, but still yell taunts and occasionally move around, torture victims are unhealable, I can't absorb dragon souls...

The hell am I doing wrong?

You may need some game tools you might not have:

Cleans up all of the old scripts left behind from MODs uninstalled

Save game script cleaner by Hadoram
Skyrim » Utilities

SSME is a utility on Nexus which allocates memory, ingame as it starts, so takes some time to let it work before you play.

Gopher has a vid on cleaning the Master files of the junk left behind by Bethesda, which only MOD'd games suffer if uncleaned by TES5 Edit.

Clean up you orphaned scripts. Saved my game big time. A utility MOD you use to look at a save and see the orphaned scripts. I use it every time I uninstall a MOD, gets rid of the leftover scripts.

SSME is a utility on Nexus which allocates memory as the game starts and takes time before you play. You let the game load up and select a saved game, it freezes for a bit, then go back to the TAB key and allow it to run until it goes to 60 fps. Basically, SSME runs two memory allocations to balance the game out in two memory slots. Saved my game big time as well. I don't have to do "parking" with SSME working, ended that issue long ago with "parking" the RAM.

I use the free version of FRAPS to monitor the progress of the fps while SSME is allocating and while I play the game after the memory allocation and select a save. FRAPS will keep me aware of running between 20-30 fps in game.

I also use HiAlgoBoost and after it loads, SSME and FRAPS do the other work for me.

I run my game on an HP Entertainment laptop with 8 RAM, so these tools helped and TES5 Master Files cleaning.

I also hope you use WryeBash and bash patch your MODS, you right click on the BASH file to do that and you need BOSS if you don't have it.

Every MOD installed or uninstalled get the works before I start a game. NMM, TES5 Edit, WyreBash (BASH Patched done in the list of MODs), BOSS run in WryeBash to force the load order.

Took me a couple of actual years to get Skyrim V stable and did this by a lot of trial and error.
