Wyre Bash Newbie: Help Me

So im wanting to instal wyre bash, and i usually instal mods manually, so here is what i need help with:

1. Do i need to uninstall all my mods i have installed manually?

2. What should i download?: standalone?, python?, or Installer?

3. Is there any extra things i need to know?

The reason behind me wanting wyre bash is because i needed a way to instal a "bain mod", like XP32 skeletons for FNIS, and wyre bash was way to do it. Any and all help is appreciated.

Since you are a beginner I suggest using Nexus Mod Manager instead of Bash. XP32 also has an NMM option. Once you have gotten the hang of NMM you can switch to BAIN if you need more options.

You should still get Bash because there are a lot of other useful tools included, most importantly the ability to create a Bash patch which makes several mods compatible with each other that otherwise would not be.

Answers to your questions:

1. No, you do not have to uninstall your mods. Bash will not touch them unless you tell it to.

2. Stand alone version, definitely.

3. Bain is great for mods that are set up properly but can be annoying if the mod was not set up right. Luckily most modders already use Bash and know how to set up their mods. However if you add a new file to the Bash installer tab and get nothing but weirdness, it wasn't set up properly. You should delete the installer and install manually just like you always have.

Thanks :). But as u said since i am a bit new to the system, i should get NMM, does it support bain? Or are you saying i should just wait until i am comfortable with it then switch to bash?

If you specifically want to install XP32, that mod has an NMM installer as well as a Bain installer. NMM doesn't support Bain so if you are trying to install a different mod that only has a bain installer then you'll just have to jump in with both feet.

As far as I know Bash is the only program that supports Bain.

BAIN is just a way to install mods using Wrye Bash - NMM does the same thing, but a bit differently ( same result) and is simpler for neophytes. Mods installed using BAIN will show in the NMM list, and those installed using NMM will show in the Wrye Bash list - they are not mutually exclusive and can be used together - but , a Mod installed using one cannot be uninstalled using the other one. You have to use the same manager to uninstall each mod that was used to install it.

Most people prefer to use NMM to install mods, and Wrye Bash for its Bash Patch (and some other features)
