I'm looking to start working on creating new mesh models for weapons and armors for men, that aren't skimpy. I'll need help with texturing these models as well as setting them up to be imported into skyrim with nifs. I currently use Blender 2.7 and know about the .nif issues with the scripts and do not wish to downgrade to 2.49 blender. Therefore, I'm looking for some help with these ideas to help increase the amount of custom made mesh armors and weapons. PM me if you wish to help. This will take time, I'm no where new to modeling, but new to modeling for skyrim. Some tutorials help, some do not, especially when you already have a work around and wish for more realistic looking fantasy weapons. If you have a request for a specific weapon PM me. I don't feel all too comfortable with making armors for skyrim yet.

Thanks in advance.

This confuses me slightly. I am unsure whether you are asking for help or offering your help. Which one is it?

For starters:

1) .nif and nifskope are.. fiddly to work with, but nothing bad. If nothing else, download Blender 2.49 and use it for .nif exporting.

2) Help with ideas? Make what you like. Google "Weapon concept", or something.

3) Modelling for Skyrim and modelling for any other game is no different. A model is a model. If you are unused to game modelling, it's just a matter of googling, and understanding normals map and how to optimize a mesh.

4) What kind of tutorials do you refer to? Exporting tutorials? It should be, as they are the only one relevant if you know how to model. If you mean you youtubed "Skyrim sword modelling tutorial", or something like that, then I advice against it. Some of them are great, but a model is a model, and modellers got Skyrim pales against some of the proffesional modellers on youtube, which makes tutorials. Either way, what is the problem? Anything specific giving you trouble?

5) Be careful wtih requests. Trust me, once you ask for it, you will have a million people ask you for things. I lost track on how many people have done this, and the threads poster never answers again, since he gets overwhelmed. Instead you should go to the request sub forum and try to pick off a model or two there.

6) Armors for Skyrim? Or armors in general? Armor is a very.. difficult thing to get right. It is both a lot of work, and requite a good understanding of both anatomy and hard surfaces. Though a set of armor will receive tenfolds the likes that a weapon will.

It's not been game modeling, but something similar with different uses in mesh, lol. I'm asking for help mostly with not having to switch over 100 different times for 1 piece of armor because the scripts don't work with 2.7. Modeling so far just from today seems like it's easy, especially if you're basing it off of something with a front image that's duplicated upon the back. But i've not gotten that far and that's not truly "custom" So looking for help and IDEAS for weapons that people might possibly want in skyrim.

Help with

1. Texturing- If someone sees a model i have in the resources, feel free to texture it.

2. Importing - If someone sees the model in the resources, please, be my guest to switch it over to a nif file and reupload.

- Just be sure to link me to it so i can grab it up and put it in my mods as well, please.

Thanks Matth85, I'll remember that part for the requests. It was merely a way to get some new ideas from sources i've yet to come across. After working with real armor for a medieval re-enactment that I currently do IRL, I've come to enjoy the looks of realistic and fantasy based armors. Though I've only ever worked with leather, hardening, and molding. This does help give a good idea on how things are to work though.
