AtomForce
I have often wondered why Bethesda chose to abandon the use of greaves when they developed Skyrim. I remember coming up with some really cool looking (and effective) armor combos in Oblivion such as enchanted shirts with armor greaves or vice versa. Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this move, did you think having full armor is simpler and better, or do you prefer having more armor parts to choose from? Doeetfgt
Oblivion let me run around shirtless in a dwemer skirt, showing my beautiful bloomed abs to everyone, so really I think we found the winner here.

Doeetfgt
No but really, especially with armor mods installed, it could do for some very nice variety : however it meant loading twice as many items from NPCs, which is why they ditched the greaves/cuirass. Lachdonin
The general consensus is that it was a misguided attempt to make gearing characters less complicated. They reversed it in ESO (though, admittedly, ESO is made by a sister studio and not Bethesda proper) so here's hoping they learned their lesson. Doeetfgt
I don't exactly miss greaves, because want it or not it meant more inventory and gold management. I seriously just miss running around with my abs out.
