Nintii
I've been having some issues recently with CTD's and after fiddling with the load orderit cleared up.I hope it doesn't return but being precautionary I downloaded Loot. Now I have Loot installed and have run the program but always with the same result,it gives me the following; General MessagesNote: There have been no changes in the Details tab since LOOT was last run for this game.Error: Masterlist update failed. Details: Git operation failed. Error: -3; Could not find repository from 'C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\LOOT\Skyrim'I'm clueless as what to do ... would Boss not perhaps be a better option for a noob like mein this scenario ? Doeetfgt
LOOT is actually the newest update to BOSS, or so I was told. I've read that BOSS was outdated now since the masterlist isn't getting updated anymore or something. LOOT is just as good, if not better!
thefinn
I think it's using the same masterfiles for both, LOOT is not anywhere near finished. Anyone saying the masterfiles aren't being updated would be premature from all I've read about it.
Lord Garon
BOSS sorts things according to their position in a masterlist of known plugins. LOOT sorts things, basically, by reading the actual plugins you have installed and checking what the plugin actually adds/removes/changes in the game, and compares its list to the masterlist for notes, overrides, etc. In my setups, LOOT 0.60 is as accurate as TESVEDIT (the ultimate load order determiner) in setting load orders for my games. Both BOSS and LOOT (wildly different) load orders work fine for my plugin lists. YMMV. Neither is perfect. The main advantage of LOOT for me is it does not have "unrecognized" plugins, as BOSS does, and will sort everything according to the changes they make. @OP: I couldn't find your particular error anywhere. Do you use the most recent installer version of LOOT? Edited July 9, 2014 by Lord Garon
Nintii
I've just downloaded version 6 of Loot, uninstalled the previous version and this is the latest, General MessagesNote: There have been no changes in the Details tab since LOOT was last run for this game.Note: Latest LOOT thread.Note: It appears you do not have the latest version of SKSE. Some mods may require functionality added in the latest version of SKSE to work.Note: It appears you have Fores New Idles in Skyrim installed. Remember to run GenerateFNISforUsers.exe every time you have installed or de-installed FNIS, or a FNIS based mod.I have not touched Fores other than when I installed it and ran it.Will download the latest SKSE. Thanks Lord Garon. ............................................................................................................................................................................. Edit ... Have just installed the latest version of SKSE, then ran Loot and everything works fine. Edited July 9, 2014 by Nintii
scissorhands
People have pointed it out already, but I should stress that BOSS isn't being updated anymore, so if you have any problems with it you'll have no choice but to switch to LOOT, which is still being updated. Hyacathusarullistad
I still prefer BOSS, personally. The load orders LOOT has handed me have seemed horribly arbitrary and outright wrong in most cases. Stuff doesn't work properly when I sort with LOOT. Even in its relatively outdated state the BOSS Master List is more than enough for anyone with any idea what they're doing to make a good start with. Farvahar
Loot masterlist error: Unknown: Git repository missing And now I'm getting odd CTDs when before skyrim was reasonably stable.
