Morrowind not having registry key? MGE XE troubleshoot issue!

  • I need help with my Morrowind to work. To prove it's a legal official copy, let me show you this: http://prntscr.com/48dwtx

  • I ran the game as administrator, played a few minutes, and then exited the game. I installed MGE XE, which is basically the mother of all mods. The resource to allow any mods to work, and I got morrowind resolution tweaker to play at my 1440x900 native resolution.

Um. MGE XE is not "the resource to allow any mods to work", in fact it's not really a mod itself in that it isn't an ESP (Elder Scrolls Plugin) or ESM (Elder Scrolls Master). Some mods require MGE XE before they'll work properly but the vast majority of mods neither know or care if you're running either MGE or MGE XE

Anyway.

When do you get that error message? When running MGEgui.exe or when running the game?

At a guess this "morrowind resolution tweaker" is saving the registry values in a format which MGE XE doesn't expect. You can use MGE XE to set your screen resolution (although I do not now if that one you want is supported).

Try uninstalling MGE XE; set the resolution in the Morrowind launcher to 800x600; launch game as Admimnistrator; reinstall MGE XE and run MGEgui.exe

Try just setting resolution in MGEgui.exe

I fixed it. Morrowind.exe was under administrator, but Morrowind's Launcher wasn't.
