Can someone please make a kick-butt armor and weapons mod that uses Braireos' gear from the film Appleseed Alpha/ Ex Machina? I absolutely loved those films, and Briareos is flippin' awesome! If someone made a mod like this I would be eternally grateful. Thanks nexus community! Below are pictures of the armor and sniper rifle.http://collectiondx.com/files/sera02a.jpg

Just saw it, great flick.

For some reason (maybe the shots of wasted New York) it really re awoke the desire to reboot New Vegas (the city proper). Always wanted to make blocks and blocks of towering, ravaged, skeletal giants shining in the night, surrounded by miles and miles of slag and irradiated obsidian black glass. A vision that would show the grandeur of what once was the old world of Las Vegas.

I'm experimenting with body mods for several projects (borderlands style tribals and cyborgs similar to Appleseed Alpha) based on vanilla models (yep, I'm a cheap hack, havn't made any complicated models completely from scratch). If the method I'm using pays off maybe down the line I'll take a shot at it. The body doesn't look too tough (lot of existing assets that could work), but the helmet is probably going to be very challenging for me.

Anyway awesome flick, highly recommended.

I'd love to have a Briareos body replacer (maybe with an option to have a human head, to allow for customisation to-taste?). I love Appleseed - awesome series. Need to get around to seeing Ghost In The Shell, too.

Maybe with a few associated race benefits and drawbacks (innate DT and unarmed/melee damage boost, in exchange for lowered charisma)? Just throwing out ideas here.

Give me a few minutes to think about resources for the body mesh.

You guys are awesome! I honestly thought no one would respond to this request. But hopefully we can get some of this in motion. devinpatterson i totally agree with you on that first idea. Having a cyberpunk based new vegas would be epic! Not only that, but having more buildings similar to FO3 would be cool as well. Anyways, marchuntotorment does have a great point if someone made a body replacer seeing that Briareos is a cyborg and not wearing armor. If anyone else wants to help or contribute I'd be more than appreciative. Please take your time while working on it, it will definitely be worth it! Thanks again guys!

The trick would be scaling the body replacer to not stick through clothing. Getting the bulky, muscular appearance of Briareos' mechanical limbs without clipping would be difficult.

Maybe use one of the bulkier body replacers as a starting point? Can't remember which is bulkier, Breeze's or Robert's...

Or, if we wanted to go the extra mile (although it'd majorly restrict armour choice - which could be a good thing, add another drawback to the race) we could use the Brawler body as a proportion base for it, since that fits Briareos' extremely muscular build quite well.

You don't want a body replacer, it would be fraught with problems (a multitude of cyborgs running about for all the NPCs). Nor would you want a custom race per se either, as the showRaceMenu can reset your perks, levels, special and cause CTDs if you don't follow some very specific procedures or a custom script. You could get an ear full from players and some heavy whineage. In addition either method allows you to wear vanilla (or DLC/user made mods) clothes/armor that are based on the default (or a common body replacer) body mesh, instantly destroying the illusion.

What you'd do is make an armor that cannot be unequipped (easy to do, just by checking one flag) and in a way, this is far closer to what a cyborg actually is (subdermal and surface armor that cannot be removed except via surgery), technologically augmented not a biological\racial set of abilities. Essentially power armor (in a cyberpunk setting) that is surgically fused to a human. You would also add all of the object effects to teh armor that would be required. Things like increased/augmented strength, speed, slight scale for size (maybe 1.1 for a 7' height), perks (adamantine skeleton etc). You could also round it out with some UI elements to simulate Briaeous's HUD display, some required recharging (maybe certain number of energy cells per an hour/day or week) etc. Possibly mucking with the game settings to give some impressive leaps. Perhaps make special abilities eat up power cells for balance (and to simulate power use).

Perhaps throw a quest in to repair the armor which starts at a barely, barely functional level (Briareos has fallen on hard times) and can be built up to full power (much akin to the bonus abilities added by the stealth suit mkk II).

Some minor points. It may still be possible to wear hats/headgear if the setScale function is used (as opposed to scaling the vertical height in blender) and making sure the helmet doesn't take up that slot. The armor list can chain/tie the helmet and gloves to the armor so they can't be removed either (biped list). While Briareos can't wear any normal outfit/armor without destroying the illusion (and that makes sense, not too many size 99 vault jump suits), special models could be made for him and/or clothing like items (similar to tailor maid & satchels) so he could have *some* variety without too much of a headache (like his combat vest or bandoleer).

Yeah the brawler body is a good base/choice. Would also work well for some borderland style tribals too.

Hmmm that's weird, nexus dropped a whole block of my text  lets try this again.

The models don't work that way. One model doesn't cover another, when you put on clothing or armor. Instead it replaces the model (ie not one over another). It's why we can't use default clothing/armor meshes unless you want them to look like a vanilla body type. And honestly there's really no reason for Briareos to be wearing a full suit of vanilla/default clothing/armor. They'd all have to be custom made for him (just due to his sheer size) at the workbench, and I don't think it's something he really cares about in the least.

Hmm again you both have really great ideas. But i have to agree with devinpatternson. If it was a body replacer there would be alot of briareos walking around the wasteland. Maybe if someone made it so you can get the cybernetic enhancements from Dr. Usanagi and it would be a permanent armor that you cant unequip when the "armor" is installed. However, the brawler body would be a great start for the armor proportions.
