Notnif
Hello I recently moved Skyrim to my SSD as I heard it helps with loading times. However, when trying to open NMM, it cannot locate skyrim.esm and fails to open. NMM is installed on my HDD, which is what is causing the problem. Is there a way to keep Skyrim on the SSD and mod it with NMM or will I have to either mod things manually (and keep on the SSD), or move it back onto the HDD (and be able to use NMM) In short, does NMM have to be on the same drive as the game you are trying to mod? Thanks
Valkasha
No it doesn't but you will have to change the skyrim directory in your NMM settings. If that doesn't work reinstall NMM with the correct directory.
bben46
I have run Skyrim on my SSD and NMM on my HD. No problem. My guess is it is still looking for the game in the old location. Does steam find it in the new location?

Valkasha
Open NMM, settings, skyrim tab, skyrim directory - change it to the new location.
Notnif
Open NMM, settings, skyrim tab, skyrim directory - change it to the new location.Perfect! I pasted skyrim.esm into the Data folder to get it open and then then changed the directory and now it works. Thank you!
