jlw484 Posted August 26, 2014 Share Posted August 26, 2014 I recently returned to Skyrim to do another playthrough. When I stopped playing Skyrim there were no issues with my game and, before returning, all I did was update all the mods that were out of date. Now when I create a new character the face of my character flickers dark and light continuously. This effect does not extend to NPCs in the game but affects ALL player characters, regardless of race. I tried updating all texture mods that I have installed, in case I lost a needed texture somehow, and nothing has worked so far. Loading the game without SKSE or without any mods whatsoever activated also does not seem to fix the problem. I've updated my ATI video drivers as well as everything else I can think of. I've looked through these forums as best as I could and could not find a fix that's worked for me. At this point I'm looking for any advice that may fix this problem without forcing me to do a clean install. Thanks in advance for any help with this. jlw484 Posted August 29, 2014 Author Share Posted August 29, 2014 Okay, I've finally figured out that the culprit is SKSE. When I start the game with SKSE with no active mods I get the problem but as soon as I use the Skyrim Launcher without SKSE the texture issue goes away. I've tried using earlier versions of SKSE but still no luck and I really need it for some of the mods I use, any ideas what could be happening?
