Simple Injury Mod

Hello!

There are mods out there that adds realistic wounds and lasting injuries, but they are so complex. My idea would be something lighter like this:

  • Every time you take damage (or on critical hits perhaps), there's a risk, based on the amount of damage (or some configurable value) that you suffer an injury with negative lasting effects.
  • There would be no true hit locations, just a randomly assigned effect that would show in the status list, called something like leg injury or arm injury etc.

Effects

  • Head injury: Lower max Magicka by 15%
  • Severe head injury: Lower max Magicka by 25%
  • Arm injury: -15 to all Combat related skills
  • Severe arm injury: -25 to all Combat related skills
  • Body injury: Lower max Health by 15%
  • Severe body injury: Lower max Health by 25%
  • Leg injury: Lower Movement speed by 15%
  • Severe leg injury: Lower Movement speed by 25%

The player would recieve a message (preferably optional) in the form of "You suffered/recieved a/an injury type here". Each of these effects would stack but only apply once, and would only heal by sleeping for at least 8 hours, either remove all effects at once or make it so that different effects requires different time to heal. Like 24 hours for severe versions.

I know this is not very realistic, but it would add a little bit more immersion I think (I know it would for me), without making things overly complex. Would be nice with configurable numbers since I don't really know how balanced the provided numbers are. Percentages, hours of sleep needed to heal would be nice to be able to adjust in an MCM menu, the more the better, so you can set it to suit your game and needs.

I must admit two things, 1, I havent thought about this for very long so might not seem very well thought out and 2, I don't know anything at all about coding or creating mods for Skyrim so it might be more complex than I think but I imagine this would be pretty simple. At least compared to many of the mods out there.

Kind Regards

Rob
