The last ODST: An immersive Halo-Fallout mod

A project I've had in the works for quite some time, working on and off of it for quite some time. Before I share anything though, I must add that a majority of the textures and meshes I did NOT make myself. They were taken from resource files, mods that have long since been taken off any modding site and simply left in the metaphorical trashbin of the web. However, everything else beside said textures and meshes are done BY ME. This include scripting, stats, perks, weapon sounds, etc. However, I do plan to go to a point in modeling and texturing where I can do everything myself. With that off my chest, let's begin.

The last ODST- What is it?

As stated before, its a project I've done in my freetime and haven't focused on it seriously. As such, it has its fair share of bugs and issues- mainly with reloading animations and other things. However, it doesn't mean that its half-baked. In fact, I plan to make this mod span all of NV and, perhaps, even the DLCs. Its a big goal, but its one I aim to achieve eventually. It

What's the story?

You're an ODST who was onboard a Pelican traveling through the Slipspace portal seen at the end of Halo 3. Unfortunately, it abruptly closed and winded up sending you through time and space to another universe- one just as unfriendly as you'll soon learn after you crash land there. Armed with what gear you had on you when the ship crashed and whatever survived the unplanned landing, you'll be thrown into a new Hell feet first.

How far have you gotten on it?

Got all armors and weapons implemented. Neither are game-breaking or god items, fitting in well with Fallout's combat system while staying true to their origins in ability and performance. Reloading is still buggy and I'll probably require Weapon Animations Reloaded at one point due to the Caseless Machine Guns; plural since that there is a silence and unsilenced version. All other weapons seem to perform fine but extensive testing has yet to occur.

Why isn't it published?

As far along as it may be, the mod is far from finished in my eyes. It'll still be a WIP when its finally released and I'll constantly polish it, but I have yet to implemented several things. One is an accurate HUD seen in Halo 3: ODST and a Tac-pad, which would serve the same function as the Pipboy essentially but mesh, no pun intended, with the armor better physically and is far more loref-friendly. Whys that? Because the Pipboy is half-eaten by the armor models and looks horrible when the BDUs are worn- not to mention that an ODST could feasibly own one. The Tac Pads are one of the few things I'll be making completely myself, which will take a while as I learn how to create unique textures and meshes for it.

Features?

-An original 'specialization' system, with your loadout being determined by what combat skills you tag. Said combat skills are guns, energy weapons, explosives, melee, unarmed, and sneak; with every combo imaginable covered (if you go with the three default tagged skills that is).

-A custom HUD (still a WIP at the moment) that mirrors wearing an ODST helmet and the elements it has. Only the 'background' has been made so far, and is still pretty rough. Accurate elements are soon to come.

-Twelve weapons and four variants of Battle Dress Uniforms. There are four explosives, two melee, and six firearms. As for the BDUs, there is a Default, Pilot, Close-Quarters Combat Specialist, and Sharpshooter variant. All have unique effects that would benefit that kind of ODST, such as CQC having increased unarmed/melee damage while a Sharpshooter has increased Perception.

-Immersive dialogue/quest modifications! No longer will you be referred to as a Courier, nor will you speak like one! You're an ODST who has seen the worst of things and have no time for gentle words or to deal with bulls***. Unfortunately, this will no doubt be the last thing to be done as it requires me to modify pretty much all existing dialogue and quests.

-A lore-friendly replacement for the Pipboy: The Tac Pad! Proving all the benefits of the traditional Pipboy, it also integrates with the armor smoothly and adds that much more immersion to your ODST experience!

-Companions! Your fellow ODSTs to be exact, though you'll have to heal them back to health in order to get them as one. Warning: They won't always survive, so you could get one, all of them that can be saved, or none depending on circumstances. (Scripting for this is still a WIP, but will be a feature)

-Probably a few more things that I'll add in later or that I've forgotten for the moment.

Note: Pictures will come in a bit. Have some already taken by they're pretty low-quality as the lighting sucks.

Anyways, I'll need some betatests. Can't really gauge my own work now can I?
