Hallucinogenic Skooma and Side Effects (Skooma Overhaul?)

I just thought that skooma, despite all the bad rep it gets in Skyrim, is a bit... how should I say... unimpressive. It's really no different than alcohol. There are plenty of mods that allow you to get fall-on-your-face drunk, and even adds effects like alcohol poisoning. I mean, sure, with the DLCs skooma makes you sort of "see red", like sleeping tree sap makes you see purple, but it's kind of un-amusing. NPCs like Wujeeta explain how their lives were basically ruined by skooma. The guards may make a comment that one of their buddies must be "hitting the skooma again" because he was allegedly seeing things. So what I'm getting at here is we need to make skooma less anti-climactic by making your character (pardon my french) start "tripping balls" whenever they drink skooma. Maybe it inverts the colors on the screen or shifts through hues and saturations to make everything throb and pulse with a vibrant rainbow of colors. Maybe the sky becomes a swirl of colors (or you just make it look like the sky in Sovngarde). Maybe a pink Alduin flies towards the horizon or out the corner of your eye, the horses look like unicorns, and everyone has an ice cream cone head. Perhaps you even see a Sasquatch that's not really there. Maybe you start seeing spots. After too many uses you become "addicted", and must use a cure disease potion to get rid of your addiction. You can OD after a set amount of bottles, and if you are "addicted" and you go too long without a fix, you die. Perhaps apply some of the same effects to moon sugar, the key ingredient to skooma. Overuse of skooma can even remove the fun effects, and you instead go into a state of depression when you use it and everything is monochrome and your stamina slowly depletes. Now I have no idea how you go about adding these types of effects while keeping the mod small since I have no experience in creating mods or coding whatsoever. But it would be really nice to see the infamous skooma in action.
