Oghren's Hair for HM

Hey guys~

If you browse around you see hundreds of custom hairs for your Wardens converted, rigged and resized from all sorts of places. Any chance of getting a model that's already in-game adapted, that is, getting Oghren's awesome hair working on you human male wardens? I'd do it myself but I've changed PC and the toolset isn't working on this one. :wallbash:

Thanks in advance! :sweat:

You don't need the toolset for that, rather, you need to adjust the DM-only mesh to fit the HM model, with an appropriate 3d modelling program. *paging Risibisi*

Oh thanks for the reply! I know a bit of 3d modeling (although on a more professional level xD) I was looking all over for his hair file and figured I needed the toolset again

Risibisi? *being a noob here*

Hair issues? I'm here :D

When you have experience with 3d modeling then it will be very easy for you. As Sky said you will need several things:

1. Oghrens hair and a hairstyle to replace it with your Orghren hair -> http://social.bioware.com/project/41/

2. The human male 3d modell ->http://social.bioware.com/project/41/

3. A 3d model programm Blender or gmax and it's import/ export script: You will find both script here on the Nexus. Here is the one for Blender: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/268/?

4. The gff editor to edit your files -> http://social.bioware.com/project/1936/

You have to work with 2 files: the msh and mmh file.

Now you have just to adjust Oghren's hair on the human male head and replace your work with a vanilla hairmesh.. e.g. Alistair's hairstyle.

Then you have to rename the files like you want e.g. hm_Oghrenhair_0.mmh, the same for the mesh. You only need to edit the mao if you make your own texture.

or.... I can make it for you :whistling:

So while I was browsing nexus I found that someone else has already made the necessary adjustments to Ohgren's hair. I found in "Ferelden Models" a HM .mor file with it included.

Any chance of getting this in Character Creation?

Here's a warden with the imported .mor file (obviously lacking some recommended mods :laugh:)

YAY A WILD GURU APPEARS!

I had just finished posting the post above when you replied xD

If you're feeling inclined to help fellow gamers I won't be the one stopping (after all I'm the one cheering :dance: ) but it doesn't seem too complicated, just a bit time consuming. As I've said I just changed pc and exam time is here and I'm swarming with work *paper towers falling over me*

So if it wouldn't be to bold to ask.... :sweat:

It's not so time consuming. I would say about half an hour :D

but you have found the hairstyle in Mochies mod. So, there is no need that I make the adjustments.

The hairstyle is in Mochies FM file. The name is hm_orga_0.mmh etc. Put the FM file in your override folder.

You have to edit your chargenmorphfile with this line under the section male hair that it shows up in your CC (Character Creator).

Right click on your chargenmorphfile and open it with editor or notepad.

<resource name="hm_har_orga_0" cut="1" />

Considering I have Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors installed should I be looking at that chargenmorphfile? Or is there another I'm missing?

*edit

Did a test run - only changing the chargenmorphfile in Pineappletree's folder, it did show up in CC but it's a bit buggy (I can see through to the head in some angles and the ears have hair sticking out) and killed colour selection xD I wonder if the face morph in that picture has some kind of head adjustment made specifically for that hair, considering my test play with it didn't had the ears and see-through problems I mentioned...

I feel like I'm 100 steps closer to getting this :tongue:

Killed colour selection? Do you mean you can't move the slider for the hair colour anymore? If yes, then you have made a mistake in the chargenmorphfile!

If Pineappletrees's chargenfile is the only one you have in your override folder then you can of course use that one.

If you have another chargenmorphfile in your override folder some of your cosmetic mods will not work. You should only have one! :smile:

Totally working now! The only problem is the ear thing, but I suppose I'll have to live with it! Thank you so much for the help and it's so refreshing to see such a nice, active and ready-to-help community online! You're amazing Risibisi! And of course theskymoves as well!

And just in time for a little Blight before Inquisition too!
