CJSmith668
Coming out with some new Heavy metal compositions to replace the combat music in the game. It will NOT be lore friendly and its tailored to my tastes. I have a sample I uploaded to youtube to give a taste in what direction I'm going...I thought it would be cool to have some sick evil metal tracks play as you slice the head off of every victim, something Crowbar-ish........ But no one has done anything like that, I'm quite disappointed, so I'm doing it myself...... Currently I'm working on a First ever album from me titled Visceral...During this time I'm experimenting with different riffs to get a combat music vibe. Its harder than it sounds! Signal Chain: ESP LTD EC1000-ET Standard Drop D...Digitech Whammy/Pitch pedal...Peavy Vypyr 100 watt VIP-3...SM57...Focusrite Recording Hub...Audactity for software recording...Magix music maker for mixing and MIDI Drums and Bass https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BnQyN0uil0 Edited February 6, 2015 by CJSmith668

VileTouch
mmm.. well if you're not going to conform to at least some similarity to the game you're trying to mod, you might as well put justin bieber's songs for combat music. *hack, slash* baby baby! *thump, crash* personally i'd love to hear a remix of the age of aggression. what say you? edit: :woot: now THAT's what i'm talking about!http://youtu.be/ZvWlbS02Ka0 wait... that was just too good, so here's MOAR!http://youtu.be/Yw1sj8pOmd4?list=RDYw1sj8pOmd4 Edited December 18, 2014 by VileTouch
CJSmith668
I was thinking about that. Particularly when the bards do their thing, but instead redo it with a bit of a metal edge so its actually enjoyable, and did I mention" NOT LORE FRIENDLY"? I swore I couldve put that in. I'm not out to please anyone but myself. Anything I do is because I like it, if others do,than great,if not, well thats just too bad, (theres too many remakes and not enough original stuff), but I wont know unless I put it out there. I updated the vid to something I played and recorded this morning to add on top of what I already did, but dont take it for granted. I have a lot more pieces I want to do. I may give an in depth listen on the original music for the game and write my own versions for it. I plan to release maybe 4-5 replacer tracks, I'll try to stick with the lore for the trial set and see what everyones take is on it......Then move onto composing both lore and non-lore friendly versions Edited December 19, 2014 by CJSmith668
VileTouch
nonono, focus. you started GREAT with this sentence: I may give an in depth listen on the original music for the game... ...but then: ...and write my own versions for it. i was expecting you to say you were going to use it as inspiration to create your own pieces in that style. the fact that it's not lore friendly is not the problem, it's a matter of... "vibe", about picking up the flow, decoding it's soul... ok. i'll stop right there, i'm sure you got the idea
CJSmith668
Thats sort of what i meant. I want something that sounds different, but is recognizable to the original piece. I'm still a novice though, so its going to take some time, but I'll get there.... My main intent is when you enter a battle, it draws you in and makes you seek it out, instead of something that warns of caution, which is the vibe I get from the original combat music that came with the game... The dragon fight music, or the original skyrim theme is awesome. That is what I'm going to base the rest of what I do on, is that vibe.
