I know you can use tweakMB to change the amounts and timing, but I don't really have any issue with that. I just don't like how they magically popup in the middle of the fight, often right in between the troops that are already fighting. I've even had times where enemy troops appear right in the middle of my formation, or my troops appear surrounded by enemies, and it's just a nightmare both tactically and for immersion. I'd love it if there were some way to always make reinforcements spawn at the edge of the map, and have to run to the place where the fighting is.
