Beta14 on Mac

I have been playing Long War for months on my Windows desktop without issue. However, I recently got a Mac laptop and wished to install Long War on it as well, as after playing Long War its very hard to return to normal Xcom. Anyway, after installing Xcom through Steam I began looking for Long War Beta14 for Mac, and while there is indeed a download for the supposed Mac version, it doesn't work. It downloads the file, but it contains all of the Windows files instead of the Mac .dmg file. I have had to install Beta13 instead as I wish to play the game now, but it annoys me as I have Beta14 on my other computer which I now rarely use. I hope that this is an issue that can be solved soon, as I would love to be able to play up-to-date Long War.

Wow okay I feel really dumb. For anyone else who may be confused, all you need to do is right click on the shell script 'install-LW-OSX.sh' and click 'open with', then 'other' . Then search for terminal, it will appear as grayed out and will be un-clickable. However all you need to do is look at the bottom of that window and change "Enable >Recommended Applications' to 'Enable >All Applications' and it will be selectable. It will automatically run the script for you, you simply need to type either 'y' or 'n' when it asks if you wish to keep old save games. Anyways, thanks wghost81 for the help.

Hello all, like the original poster said, been playing for a long time on a PC (xcom long war). Have a Mac too but since modding xcom in a Mac seems so complicated, I never installed long war on my MAC until today. Reading the above, the script that came with this new version of long war is a snap to install on a MAC platform. So I played the first mission and as expected, encountered no problems. However, after the sky ranger landed in its new base, (I choose ASIA for this run) , after the intros I get to the promotion page for my squad. This is when the game crashes, any soldier I choose to promote skills will CTD.

So the script installer for the Mac ain't perfect. Or more likely, I did something wrong or forgot to do something else.... Help pls...

THANKS

AJI

Ps... My Mac is mainly for work so not as familiar with its inner working not like a PC so any advice in "LAYMANS" terms would be apriciated.
