FishDout
Every mod I have checked - a total of about 10, granted, not that many - says nothing in the 'requirements' tab of the mod regarding skyrim version. I have skyrim version 1.1 (Very old I know but can't update) and every mod I have tried installing has not worked, even though there is no version requirement on the mod page. These are some of the mods I installed that didn't work: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16090/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D16090%26preview%3D&pUp=1 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13811/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35564/? Please advise, Thanks in advance
BlackRampage
Exactly why can't you update? If you have the steam release, it even automatically updates the game to the latest version. As such, any and all mods only work with the latest Steam-updated version of Skyrim.

I opted against the automatically updating steam version for this reason. (I have the non steam version)
saurusmaximus
Generally, mods require the latest version of Skyrim, some are fine with the previous version (1.8.?). the thing is, if your internet connection is that slow, you aren't going to being doing much modding either; those have to be downloaded too :)

Whoah I'm way behind. I noticed that many of the mods I looked at are surprisingly tiny in size (most smaller than 1mb) which I am able to download. So it seems I can't do any modding unless I update, which is a huge bummer. Thanks for commenting anyway

If it's something simple like armor and weapons, you're probably ok. Anything more complicated, and you're on yoiur own. The updates are primarily bug-fixes, so any mod that relies on a version without one of those bugs will probably not work correctly. You can always try the mod and see what happens, the only downside to that is the problem might not show up right away, and it really sucks to have to give up a savegame that's 10, 20, 50 hours in because of a bugged mod. The non-steam version is not the legitimate version.
Thandal
Regardless of whether a mod requires a "legal" version of the game, the Nexus does. The only help pirates get is help walking the plank. :pirate:
