Would an honorable Modder enhance the combat system ?

Yes , yes , we all know tktk1 and others have made mods to change and improve combat in Skyrim .. though they all seem to lack . Even if used together .

Anyone who has played Assassin's Creed would most likely LOVE to see that style of combat implemented in Skyrim ! Dodging , parrying , counter-attacks , all without the delay found in other mods , and hell to put some icing on the cake make buildings able to be scaled and climbed like in AC ^.^ ! Also , smoother animations and being able to block-counter , attack-counter , any type of counter , jumping from one enemy to the next , but obviously not as easy as in AC . I feel AC made it too easy to mass kill enemies with it's automatic lock ons and such , so maybe halve the intensity and allows failures and misses ?

The Skyrim and Nexus community would definitely love a mod like this !

go play AC if that's what you want, i would love to have game mechanics like that but the engine does not support them. which is why combat overhauls are so lacking, it is really hard to make it look good or run smoothly when you are just a casual programer/animator.

Quoting this so much.

I mean, of course it'd be fancy and all if it'd be possible to make parrying etc. possible and working, but not on this engine.

Also, making all combat mechanics similar to AC.. Just play AC.

It'd be easier to mod AC to look like Skyrim (With beasts and so) than to make skyrim feel like AC.

"Just play AC"

....... *beats head against the wall*

I have many AC games and thoroughly enjoy them , I would just like to see something like that implemented in Skyrim . As a coder myself (programs , not games) I can kind of understand how difficult it is coupled with what mods I've experienced already , and I'm not looking for "go play AC" answers , I'm looking for a "Hey I'll give it a shot"

Lol

It saddens me though , that Skyrim is so lacking , especially when older TES games had some cool features .. i.e jumping and attacking . I feel like bethesda got way too lazy , but that's what mods are for , I could never play Vanilla skyrim again , the 300+ mods I have are essential now . Well maybe only 50 are .. but you know

Also , you can't mod AC like you can Skyrim , Skyrim has more potential than AC .... so I hope you could understand why I'm asking for what I'm asking for .

man we understand we want it too. seriously if the combat was easy enough that a simple programer could do it we'd have so many great mods to choose from. alas it isnt, just to implement better combat mods we need 3d modelers, programmers, animators, tacos (personal thing not required), and for some really good animation changes a physical actor and a blue screen.

sure i have all of that quite available to me, but it is a lot of unpaid work to do. and i dont have time and neither does the rest of the people. also lets not forget the engine is kinda difficult to work with in this case and all of the hard coded stuff. seriously we'd probably have to redo the whole games moving animations just to get it to look great and run smooth.

odds are FO 4 and ESO 7 will have far better animations and might even be a tad easier to work with when it comes to modding.

i'm with you man i dont want to play AC i want to play Skyrim and climb a freakin building and jump on a guys back with a war axe as i shout his buddies into oblivion. it'd be great, but it's not possible for most modders.

So you understand my pain then   :wallbash:

As for tacos , I prefer some expensive chinese , but tacos never did me wrong . Well maybe we can get a team together ? Haha all I have to offer is , well .........

JAVA , VBScript , C++ , batch , and C#

i'd help but i am pretty busy as it is. which is the only reason i havent learned to mod by now. i mean sure im on this site a lot but lets face it, it doesnt take long to write a few lines of text on a forum. i am actually on here largely for the fact that i have learned a lot about modding and trouble shooting by being corrected or by reading other peoples trouble shooting successes.

so at the moment i and my peoples are gonna wait till FO4 (or ESO but since Bethesda seems to go ESO, FO, ESO we just assume FO 4 is next) to come out to get serious about modding.

I'd seriously pay around 15-20$ for a better combat engine, maybe we can get a crowdfunding campaing together?

And what? Pay bethesda so they "fix" the combat?

We'd need access to source code most likely to be able to fix everything, unless they guy who sort-of was working on this manages to break down the behavior files and start adding stuff.

Well, we'll see. Oblivion was broken in pieces maybe like 3-4 years after release.

recently I remember seeing an interveiw that stated the crouching feature in the new ac held about a million lines of code, just felt like putting that out there, heh

personally I think it would be easier to go a dark souls route with the combat, its closer to skyrim mechanicly and just as varied and tactical as ac
