enocpac Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 I'm having trouble getting Skyrim to play in 1920x1080 resolution. Originally I played at 2560x1440, but with about 68 plugins and all the HR DLC installed, I wanted to scale back for increased performance. My monitor only supports resolutions up to 1600x900, however I have 2 custom resolutions set through the Nvidia Control Panel; 1920x1080 and 2560x1440. The Skyrim launcher recognizes and allows me to play at 2560x1440 no problem, however 1920x1080 doesn't show up. The only difference between the two, is that I had 1440p setup prior to installing Skyrim for the first time. The 1080p resolution I created after I had installed the game. I tried deleting SkyrimPrefs.ini and forcing the launcher to re-detect my hardware/settings, and 1440p still shows up every time, but 1080p doesn't.I tried deleting SkyrimPrefs.ini and forcing the launcher to rebuild, while my desktop resolution was set to 1080p, but it didn't work. I tried editing SkyrimPrefs.ini to force the resolution by changing iSize H & iSize W, however the game won't launch, stating the resolution is unsupported by my monitor. I'd like to figure it out without reinstalling the entire game and all my mods, and am doubtful that would have any better result than rebuilding SkyrimPrefs.ini anyway.
