Really weird error while playing

Ok, I recently upgraded my graphic card from Geforce GT 550 to Geforce GTX 650 and with the old graphics card the game was running normal and everything, but when I tried to run the game with the new graphic card suddenly while playing the graphics when nuts. I could see random colors on the sky then if I move the lines start to appear and then the game doesn't crash but starts going slower, I already tried: removing mods, uninstalling game and then reinstall it, unistall the graphic card drivers reboot and then reinstall them. Nothing works and when I tried to take a screenshot it shows damaged, the only way I could take a screenshot was on windowed mode so bare with me on this one.

Just a few things I could think of off the top of my head:

- If your card has any control or optimization software, it it set up properly for Skyrim?

- Are other games affected, too?

- Does your computer meet the system requirements for the card?

- Is the card plugged in properly, everywhere it's supposed to be? (Maybe there's a cooling fan that's not getting power, for example.)

- Do heatsinks, etc. on the card have enough air?

Ok, as far as I know,

1- Already did

2- not that I'm aware of... but only got 2 more games installed at the moment mass effect and Sims 3

3- I dunno, I think I do i7, 8 RAM, 1 TB

4- that might probably it, I just installed 2 more fans.

5- I have no idea how to check that.

Also a friend of mine told me that my power supply might not be strong enough, mine is 25A 500 Watt I think I saw it, do you think changing the Ppower supply will fix it?

If it was your power supply wouldn't your GFX card shut down the game ? I don't know for sure but it sounds sketchy to assume that it is the PSU.. especially since you said the game runs, it just looks messed up. Besides, you run your other 2 games just fine..

Have you tried updating all relevant drivers? Maybe directX or something. Does the game look messed up in vanilla too? Have you tried forcing a limit on the FPS to stay below 60? I know that once you go past 60 FPS the game is unplayable..

Thanks to the both of you, yeah it was the FPS and that I had vsync off, I can't believe I didn't check that sooner.

If the power supply has overload protection it will normally turn off the computer. However not all power supplies have that.
