Hello,

I am currently building a player home and would like to include a statue of a horse; however, I cannot seem to find one. If created for this purpose, you can claim full ownership of all assets, distribute (or not distribute) it however you like and I will credit you in my mod description. If you are not interested in this project, but know of a horse statue already in existence, let me know. Also, there may be a way to utilize the vanilla horse mesh and overlay it with a stone or marble texture, but I do not have any experience with editing meshes or textures (photoshop, GIMP, blender, nifskope, etc.) I appreciate the help with this.

Thanks,

There is a static horse among the LoadScreen assets (search for LoadScreen in the CK). Then you can make a copy of it and give it a stone TextureSet to make it look like a statue.

Alternatively, if you know your way with nifs, Stroti made a horse statue resource for Oblivion you could try to port over. But I think using the LoadScreen asset would be best, although it'll have no collision so you'll have to put a collision box around it directly in the CK.

Thanks for the responses, but I do have the following questions:

- In order to retexture the horse LoadScreen static, it is my understanding that I would need to map the mesh using a program such as nifskope. Is this correct or can I retexture statics directly from the CK?

- If I give the horse a premade stone TextureSet, would the texture be stretched; and therefore, the quality reduced since the stone texture would not be fit to the horse?

- If I use the collision box in the CK will the statue in effect have collision or would it create an invisible wall around the statue? If necessary, I can elevate the statue onto a tall base that cannot be reached by the player.

I have made a horse statue for you from the loadscreenhorse_and_rider.nif where I removed the rider, retextured the horse and made a proper collision for it.

The mane and the tail look a bit odd because they have originally an alpha property to simulate hair which cannot be achieved in a retexture with marble or stone.

They can easily be removed in Nifskope, if you wish. In my upload they are retextured, that is why they look a bit odd now

The original texture has hairs in it, so that looked good - but before more arguing you should have a look at it yourself.

Just checked out the statue, and it looks awesome (in game pictures below.)

I think it would be perfect if you were able to remove the mane and edit/modify/remove the tail, due to the paper cupping effect.

As stated above, I will credit you in my mod description and you are free to use these assets however you like (I will not use these for anything else without your permission.)

Once again, thanks a bunch.

This is what I mean with " a bit odd".

Sorry, my knowledge is limited to Nifskope. Mane and tail are connected in the Nif and it needs 3d editing skills to make changes on the tail, which I don't have.

..... you are free to use these assets however you like ........

No need to mention this extra, I consider this as a matter of course.
