Suggestion: Enforce Mod Attributes

I've been on this site for awhile. When browsing mods I expect the attribute filters to filter out the mods I don't want. However, people seem to forget to set the attributes. An easy way to see this is to browse for male only clothing mods for Oblivion. Whats supposed to happen is all the female only stuff is filtered out. But thanks to the uploaders NOT setting the female only attribute, they don't get caught by the filter. So please, enforce the attributes!

I think this is set up so that you, the user, can tag these attributes as you see them if the mod author hasn't. If you see male armour that is not tagged as such you can tag it yourself and keep everybody happy.

Especially most Oblivion mods for instance have been uploaded and left orphaned by their authors long before the tagging system and the content filters were even introduced.

Retroactively this cannot be fixed by the authors, who are gone for good for many years by now.

It is up to the users to fix the missing tags on those mods. It takes only 3 users in agreement for a tag to become permanent and active.

If it's really that big an issue for everybody when a mod is missing some tags, then it shouldn't take too long for it to get fixed by only 3 of them voting for the missing tags.

As for "enforcing" proper tagging onto mod authors, this will never work out. You can encourage, or ask for it, heck, you can even incentivize it, but you cannot "force" an author to anything they don't want.

The only thing they need to do when you try is just go away, and you'll be the one loosing in this equation, along with all those others who didn't try to force them that is, but that's neglectable.

The only things we require from authors are the following:

1) A working mod. (Mo placeholders, malicious code, or known game-breakers.)

2) A legitimate mod. (No theft of IP or illegal material.)

That's it. Anything else is totally at the author's descretion.
