The most common of which is crashing on reloading saves, as in it loads fine when I start the game but if I die or want to retry something the game might crash... might crash, and there in lies my dilemma. I have no idea whats causing the game to crash I could play for 7 hours reloading left and right and have no problems at all but then the next day it crashes 5 minutes in when I screw up a line of dialogue and reload. I was wondering if there were any mods here that could be conflicting with each other and maybe I could ditch a few for the sake of stability, ones I wouldn't miss that much that are taxing on skyrim. speckledsnake
Not that it would necessarily fix everything/anything, but, any reason you're not using the unofficial patches for all the DLC? Also, did you clean all your DLC, and/or any other mods that might have (unintentional) dirty edits? Neither of those are likely to be the key, but, certainly can't hurt, and might add some degree of stability as a starting point.
BlackRoseOfThorns
Use LOOT for sorting your load order. If mod author specifies his plugings load order, move them manualy and lock in place. Common CDT cause is going above skyrim engine max amount of ram. Try running around with resource monitor on to see where your ram usage spikes. Combine99
I do use LOOT and do the patches actually make the game more stable?
Trypal7
yes, they do. I have a low end system and with a few tweaks and the patches I rarely have any ctd's anymore. And when I say low end it's right at the point of almost suck. Check my profile you'll see it. And I play at 20 fps avg with high textures and medium everything else with full view distances. Not great but not bad considering a 12 year old system. It always helps to have a fresh clean windows install and then skyrim. Try not to have a bunch of other stuff installed and downloaded stuff to your hd. Run 2 hd's, one for game, the other for other. I'm certainly no guru but have been forced to squeeze every bit of juice out of what I have and that kind of thinking goes well with any system. Combine99
You guys were right the patches really do make the game a hell of a lot more stable. I would never have thought the patches would have made the game this much more stable! Thanks a bunch.
