Hello all,

I am making a companion and have pre-recorded WAV files, but I'm not to sure on how to get them in the GECK and apply them to the NPC. Would anyone be able to help?

Sure! What's the trouble?

Just first off the bat:

Make sure any wavs are:

Wave

Mono

Sample Rate: 44,100Hz

Sample Format: 16-bit

File Type: WAV

MP3

Mono

Sample Rate: 44,100 Hz

Bit Rate: constant, 64 kbps

File Type: MP3

Make sure all your files are in:

%NewVegasDirectory%\Data\Sound\Voice\ModFile.extension\VoiceType\File.extension

And finally, make sure all file names are the same as your topic handler Ids.

I have the proper format for all the voice files but I am unsure of how to GET them into the G.E.C.K. and actually apply them to the NPC. I have written alot of dialogue, but never applied voices before.

Every line of dialog has a predetermined file name and path. The path is always:
Data/Sound/Voice/plugin-name/VoiceType/
and the file name is created by the Geck based on the questname, topic name, and FormID.
So just rename your sound files to match the lines of dialog and create folders as necessary to put them.
