How do I properly edit chargenmorphcfg.xml?

Hopefully I'm posting in the right place, this is my first post on the forums.

What I want to do is use 'More Hairstyles'(http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=392) and 'Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors'(http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=153) together.

But they collide and you can only use one or the other, except if you edit chargenmorphcfg.xml according to pineappletree's vibrant color description page

I have no experience with this. But I am willing to learn.

Could someone tell me how to edit chargenmorphcfg.xml and tell me what exactly I need to do to make them compatible?

Its kind of hard to imagine I'm the first person to want to do this so maybe it's already been done? That'd be really cool. Any help either way is appreciated.

Unless you're building and testing your own morphs, you probably want to stay away from editing the chargenmorphcfg file manually. Personally, I think Terra-Ex's utility is the best way to do it:

"CharGenMorph Compiler" on Nexus

One Note: The utility has an incorrect default path for the "daorigins.exe" program on Win7 systems. (The utility expects "\Bioware..." in the path name, but it isn't there.) Just edit the path manually during the install.

Thanks for the quick reply, this looks like exactly what I need :)

Glad to help.

(Tip for next time: you might enter what you're looking for in the Files Section's "Search" box. Doing so for "chargenmorph" brought back four hits: three already-created "compilations", and this utility. :) )

Hmmm, I'm getting an error:

Most likely has to do with Vista's awesome way of installing games on my computer:

This is my root directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Age

This is where my mods are installed and where the chargenmorphcgf files are located 100% for sure: C:\Users\Nick\Desktop\Documents\Games\Documents\Games\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override

(LOL ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Vista)

However, when I click compile, it says no chargenmorphcfg files were detected

Hmm, I tried a search and got back a bit more than four results, could you link me to the already created compilations please? :)

WOW NEVERMIND

Sorry I'm retarded. Forgot to scan for the xml files before I compiled LOL

I figured it out, thanks for you patience and help.

np. (Hey, we're all retarded sometimes...)

Glad it's working for you! Terra_Ex really does good work. I (think) I have (and use) all his stuff. ;)

eh???...but "more hairstyles" allready has compatibility patches in file section...

http://fs4.dragonagenexus.com/download.php?file=Compatibility%20Patches%20for%200_51-392.zip&domain=dragonagenexus.com

Kzelsama (author of "More Hairstyles") may have provided "compatibility" files for certain other mods, but getting a facemorph element to work correctly with all the others a player may have installed requires editing the chargenmorphcfg.xml file, (manually, or automagically.)
