Arcangel - The Beginning

Tiemmo does not like the castle. Walls - oppressive, closing things away, hiding the fresh air, hiding freedom. He turns to Parr.

"If we must go to the castle, which is a very big place, do you have a clue as to whom we might seek out? It would not naturally be the fighting men. Perhaps they have a historian? Would you know his or her name?"

"Or at least the current Kingdom Chronicler" Tiemmo adds. He turns to Portia. "Madam, I do not know the city well, I will be happy to escort you wherever we need to go, if you know the way."

He turns to the others. "Shall we go together? There may be safety in numbers!"

Krixox looks at Tiemmo and Portia, then breaks out laughing. "We are in the castle walls, remember? The castle keep is about a hundred paces from here." Krixox looks at Altarus, and mimics the actions of Tiemmo. "Milord," she says bowing to him. "It might be a dangerous walk, wouldst thou escort me to the castle, lest bandits fall upon me mistaking me for a person of stature?" she winks at him.

Tiemmo stares - all this was still one building? The place he was in seemed huge. But then there was the bridge they had come over, he certainly hadn't crossed back over it.

"Well, in a castle the size of a city one supposes the risks are the same as in a city! But let's go. I like to see sky above my head!"

Portia laughs. "Remember the bridge? On the other side were the castle walls. We're in the castle, but this is just a part of it. There's another building in the walls called the keep. That's where we're going." She links her arm through his and asks, trying to mimic Krixox. "Willst thou escortest me to the keep?" It didn't seem to quite have come out right, but she thinks she got it at least close.

The several couples of the party tromp across the green and enter the keep proper. The guard there courteously informs you that yes, Allastair, is still there and his office is downstairs. A couple of more questions find you in a large room. Row after row after row of shelves are filled with scrolls and books. The scrolls are browning along the edges, and the books seem to be carefully and lovingly kept clear of all dust and dirt. A couple of elderly people are walking around, feather dusters and other gentle cleaning supplies in hand, and seem to be shocked to see you come in.

"Good afternoon, gentles." a man who seems even older than the others says in a voce as dry as the papers lying around the room. "My name is Allastair. How might I be of assistance to you?"
