So my current GPU is Zotac GTX 770 AMP Edition 2GB

i play modded Skyrim with HD Textures, Since mine VRAM just 2gb, it cant handle it well with other Mod (especially ENB) and i alwaays get annoying stuttering

so i am looking for this Asus GTX 680 Dircet CUII 4GB

is it worth it or not?

Gtx 680 wouldn't be really an upgrade since you would be still limited by gpu power.

It's better to wait and save money for 980. The price might drop down a bit next year. For now use mix of 1k and 2k textures.

What I use:

NobleSkyrimMod HD (avaible in 1k and 2k) - I use this one as a base. Covers lots of forgotten textures and I think everything that was in Skyrim HD so far.

Tamriel Reloaded HD (new version is in 2k, old optional files are 1k) - Overwrites some of NobleSkyrim house/wall textures. Offers parallax.

Vivid Landscapes (avaible in 512 / 1k / 2k) - Good performance and visuals + parallax.

I don't use Skyrim HD + Parallax. In my experience the performance and aesthetics were not that great.

Wait!!!!!

Did you try the full or light version? The full version is very big.

Try this classy, pretty bad boy http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/61995/? comes in 2k and 1k.

Also, what grass size? What other texture mods? Do you have a flora mod?

Full Version,

at first i use 1k-2k, still get that annoying stuttering a bit, then i installed the full 1k, and it goes smooth in Elder Blood ENB,

i tried it in Kinematic ENB Edition it goes smooth too, but i get sttuter when the game loaded trees and grass, or in beautiful whiterun

right now i using it with amidianborn, project parallax for vanilla, vividian landscape 1k full, realisctic vloud 512, verdant 512, big trees, SMIM Full, and LOD Texture,

i following BlackRoseOfThorns advice, it looked great with fair peformance, didnt tried with different enb than Elder Blood ENB or 3 of Kyo ENB though, but overall i sastified with it (Thanks BlackRoseOfThorns)

but i want using higher and more detailed texture (greedy me)

NobleSkyrimHD does not have parallax files and no one made a pach for it yet, since it gets updated all the time. It's essential as base, it adds textures like interior floors, stone and wood carvings, metal, furniture, etc. I have installed Tamriel Reloaded on top of it for walls with parallax and landscape textures. If I wouldn't be set on having parallax I would consider using NobleSkyrimHD only, it has a really good performance.

With Elder Blood or K Enb I suspect the moment you install high res textures only, you will start having major issues with keeping 30+ fps in some areas with gtx 680. I have gtx 780 ti 3GB and had to limit myself a bit when using K Pure Light due to fps. 4GB of vram wouldn't help me at this time (checked vram usage with performance monitor). I have to wait for 980 TI with both higher clocks and more vram or get 2x 4GB cards for sli (gtx 980 or equivalent).

Switching to Tranquility Enb improved my fps. It's almost same quality as K enb, but with more realistic colors.

You said yourself, I want higher textures!

I have an r9 290x 4vram and dame that vram! I can hardly fill it up! You want to play it safe get 4vram, if you are cheap 3vram is still really good place to start.
