There was a big bug in a couple of the earlier releases of version 0.54:

when we passed your plugin list to an external library we use, if the loadorder was severely broken (eg. "unofficial dawnguard patch.esp" set to load before "dawnguard.esp"), it removed all the content from your plugins.txt file making it blank.

We didn't expect this extreme behaviour, nor we thougt about testing such extreme cases, our fault and we're sorry for any inconvenience and headaches this might have caused you.

What happens after you're affected by this bug is that all your plugins will turn disabled, they're still there, in the same load order as before (well, a bit better, cause the broken elements are automatically fixed by NMM), but you'll need to re-enable the ones you want active by going in the NMM Plugins tab.

Version 0.54.10 and higher should have fixed this issues for everyone, so you are safe to use them.

Keep in mind that this issue was caused by plugins that were broken (eg. ._Pulserifle from the Alien Weapons mod, or a broken esp patch), the manager will ignore these files for the time being.

Hmm, could this affect the import to NMM 0.60.06a having trouble with profile switching there. I believe I imported from 0.54.3 or .4 ? I have now worked with .60 for aprox 2 months and made various mod changes and LOOT runs, but I dare not profile switch due to several issues, duly noted in that forum "Bug report's for Alpha 0.60.xx"

Nope, that's not related, there's still a few issues with the alpha build that will be corrected soon.

With 0.54.8, any check, uncheck, manual sorting in the plugins list and installing or uninstalling any mod empties the plugins.txt file. After this, at next start of NMM, all plugins are unchecked. After check all required mods, plugins.txt file remains empty.

Additionally, i always use NMM on my second monitör. Before 0.54, NMM starting at last closed position and size on screen. This version ( 0.54.8 ) never remember last position and size, starting on first monitor with fullscreen. Seems to be unable write last config values to the config file.

Please try uninstalling your NMM, make sure the program folder has been removed, then download 0.54.8 again and reinstall it, check if causes the blank plugins.txt file again, if it does, then please post here:

http://forums.nexusm...ager-open-beta/

and attach your loadorder.txt file.

I uninstalled NMM with remove configurations option (i don't know whether config removal is really necessary) and reinstall NMM. It successfully import my previous backed up plugins.txt file and all mods. After uncheck last esp from plugins tab, empty contents of the plugins.txt file.

contents of loadorder.txt (but most items of this list is disabled or merged):

[EDIT]

Please attach your file if you want to share your loadorder, don't copy&paste it in the post.

If you're still experiencing this issue please follow these instructions:

Uninstall NMM (no need to remove config files), make sure the program folder has been removed (we need to make sure no old .dll file conflicts with the new install).
Download this preview build: https://www.dropbox....0.54.9.exe?dl=0
Install it as usual.
Run NMM. (this won't and can't fix an empty plugins.txt file, thus if your plugins are disabled we can't guess what you need to be enabled or not).
Now check if it works as usual or you still get the blank plugins.txt file issue (all plugins disabled on a NMM restart).

Should it fix your issue, please note down and report here any strange behaviour you may encounter with this build (eg. a specific plugin is never activated in the plugins.txt file):
while we are preventing the library handling those files (loadorder and plugins) from deleting them arbitrarily, we still don't know what was causing the issue for you in the first place,
so it might happen that you won't be able to enable the "broken" plugin.

With 0.54.9, it backed up loadorder.txt to loadorder.backup.nmm and plugins.txt to plugins.backup.nmm.
Started with unchecked all plugins.

I load previous exported loadorder and run the game. Runs without problem and i save and exit. After that, i unchecked one of the esp from plugin tab, plugins.txt file emptied. After restart of NMM, all plugins listed as unchecked but correct order.

For now, I will check line by line last-known-good loadorder.txt, plugins.txt and exported loadorder files and try to find any abnormal (non-existent?) esp(s).
