SAOxAsunaLOVEz Posted April 19, 2015 Share Posted April 19, 2015 Hello Nexus Forums :) I am here to request a mod... if what i'm asking for is possible ( I can see it being possible). For a long time now, I have been wanting to learn Japanese. However, I am struggling learning Japanese on my own, using various method's that either I can't comprehend or get bored of. So, I was wondering... if it was possible if someone could create a companion or follower that could teach me Japanese? I think this would help me stay focused on learning Japanese because I love Skyrim... I can be on Skyrim just wandering around and be satisfied... I could easily stay focused on learning Japanese if possible. So I'll wrap this up with a question... Would this be possible? If so, could request a mod like this? jimjimjimjaboo Posted April 26, 2015 Share Posted April 26, 2015 A companion/follower might be hard to do. What I know might work is if a merging of the localizations might assist you to this goal. Ex. merge the localizations such that both japanese and english subtitles are enabled/displayed and japanese audio is used. Neehsen Posted April 26, 2015 Share Posted April 26, 2015 I think it would be easiest to just play the japanese version of Skyrim. Depending on how well you know the game, you know what the NPCs are saying. This way you can pick up single words and familiarize yourself with the sound of the language. This can also help in understanding a little bit of grammar.However, if you really wannna learn the language (read, write , speak, listen) there is no way around doing some of the ''boring stuff'' like vocabulary lists or particle order.I don't wanna discourage you, on the contrary, just expose yourself to some japanese and read up what you don't get.I'm doing the same with russian. I played hundreds of hours of Morrowind so I know the game inside out. Got me a copy of the russian Morrowind version about a month ago. It really helps when you know the content. I'm also unable of making mods...nor do I know Japanese... but hopefully one day someone who can makes a mod like this... I too would love to learn Japanese through Skyrim! Followers/Companions would be an excellent addition, but how about making a new building filled with NPC's that could help with learning as well. Plus daily challenges and tests, and even rewards. New clothing, new cool weapons, and other resources could be also granted for passing tests or challenges would be cool too. Lol, this would be a cool skyrim experience in my opinion!
