Hello fellows,

I was wondering if somebody could help me to figure out what factor is responsable for the X level in which enemies are affected by spells (turn undead, calm, paralysis, etc...)

example of TurnUndeadFFMassSelfArea

Sets undead up to level <mag> on fire and makes them flee for <dur> seconds.

what is <mag> and how do you increase its level?

I am new to modding so i am still on the basics and this might be a noobish question

It is a noobish question, but hey that's how you learn.

In the object window, on the left hand pane, expand the "Magic" tree.

Under Magic there is a category called Magic Effect. Magic effects determine what happens when a spell takes effect.

Also under Magic is a category called Spell. Expand this tree to see the different types of spells in the game. Each spell has entries for magic effects that it applies when it is cast. The magic effects have their magnitude and duration specified in their entries for the spell. So for example you can create one effect and then reuse it in three different spells with three different magnitudes and three different durations.

For certain magic effect types, including fury, fear, and a few others, the magnitude determines the highest level creature that the spell will affect.
