Some inconsistencies in how dialogues are described

Hello,

I noticed something that doesn't let me stop thinking about it. Or two things, to be precise. Both are related to specific dialogue options. I thought I could ask you if any of you had ever experienced that.

The first thing is a dialogue initiated by Leliana in our camp. It is listed on the wiki as a jealousy talk here under Leliana/Zevran: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Leliana/Approval. It is supposed to occur when:

- Leliana is being romanced;

- has at least the status "Care";

- the PC slept with Zevran.

However, I got this dialogue with Leliana at 100, but "Friendly". Moreover, Zev didn't touch my PC; they only talked and it by some chance crept into 100 "Adore".

At first, I thought I broke something, since Leliana loves to stealth-romance PCs. But I got no approval hits. She luckily stayed on friendly. Yet, the wiki (and other sources, though they might have got that from the wiki) clearly lists it as a jealousy talk with romanced Leliana and at least a single one-night-stand with Zevran. Nothing like that happened, yet I still got the dialogue (and Leliana seemed pleased like a cat who swallowed a canary). Here is the folder with screenshots documenting our conversation: http://www.mediafire.com/?6qyjyndxqqwed.

The second peculiar dialogue was had with Ruck. The wiki, GameBanshee and what-not claim that if you take Zevran with you to him, he will "advocate mercy killing and force your hand to put Ruck out of his misery". Well, Zevran works best with my build (not to mention the hilarious dialogue options with pretty much every other companion), so I took him anyway, but saved before talking to Ruck. After lots of creepy dialogue, Zev indeed said we could put an end to his suffering... But I had a chance to make a persuasion check, responding that he lives in a different way, but might not want to take his life just yet. And then the Antivan gives me this shivering understanding glance and agrees with me. Afterwards, Ruck gets to say he is fine the way he is (kind of) and we can leave him to himself. Again, something totally against what each solution-making site claims. I took screenshots too, just a warning - they are very creepy and disturbing: http://www.mediafire.com/?6qyjyndxqqwed.

So, has anyone encountered said possibilities for dialogue? I have maxed coercion if that plays a role too. Regards.

Different players with different builds and different relationships (approval levels) with the different Party members can (and do) have different dialogue options at various points. So the stuff you read about certain ones in certain circumstances may have been (and most probably were) exactly what those players experienced in those situations.

For example; your "Max Persuade/Coercion + Status of Relationship w/Zev" may have been why you could spare Ruck whilst another player might not have had that choice.

(Not to mention all the strange things mods can do to the game's plot-flags and dialogue branches! :laugh: )
