Interesting issue - LOWERING shadow resolution appears to CAUSE ILS

Hi all,

I've been experiencing an interesting issue lately: Lowering the shadow resolution is appearing to cause infinite loading screens.

Just in case, here is my load order (LOOTed, of course), although based on experiments I highly doubt that a mod is the culprit.

I am also using the SKSE memory patch which has pretty much eliminated ctd's as well as the "Realvision" enb preset.

Anyway, I started out a while ago with my shadow resolution set to 4096x4096, because why not (I was still using vanilla at that point so it wasn't really an issue). After installing many mods and enb however, I decided to try lowering it to 2048 or 1024 to try and squeeze out a little more fps(the really crisp shadows look kind of weird to me anyway). However, after lowering the shadow resolution, I can not load any save in an exterior area, as it will give me an ILS. Furthermore, loading an interior save and traveling outside will also cause an ILS. Resetting the resolution to 4096 will cause the game to load normally again.

Any Ideas how to fix this?

**EDIT**
Forgot to post specs / stuffs:

Running Windows 10 build 10074,

with AMD Phenom II x6 @2.8 Ghz

Gigabyte R9 290x 4GB VRAM

12 GB RAM

Can you describe how you are editing the shadow resolutions? I've never heard of this issue with ILS, however when changing resolution there are multiple settings to adjust unless you use the Video Tuner (Skyrim Launcher).

I'm changing them using the "skyrim configurator" tool
