Random Skyrim CTD

Hello, My Skyrim was perfect about a week ago then i decided to uninstall for more Hard drive space. Yesterday I decided to re download Skyrim and started a new character using Alternate Start and chose attacked and left for dead option and about 1 min in to it i got CTD. So i gave up with that character and decided to make a new one and i chose the Companions it will attempt to load up ill see the area for about 1 second until I get CTD.

I've tried all the things that you all suggested to me and I still cant do much without causing CTD I loaded a fairly old character from my old play through worked fine for a minute. I loaded right outside of Whiterun and started running toward the Western Watch tower and CTD. This is so annoying...

Are you using ENB? Try installing the latest ENB for Skyrim and then setting it to use the speed (performance) hack only without graphics:

 

You'd open one of the ENB INI files (I think ENBlocal.ini) and set this value:

 

UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true

 

So, change "false" to "true" and then save. Following that, optimise the "ReservedMemorySizeMb" and "VideoMemorySizeMb" according to this guide:

Basically, Skyrim has a native methodology of handling memory (video memory) in "blocks". Once the first block of memory is used up, Skyrim opens a new memory block. Sounds great right? Except half the time when Skyrim opens the second memory block it crashes because... It wasn't coded right I guess (probably a gross over-simplification)?

 

Using ENB you can expand the first block to be larger so it doesn't open a second block, thus alleviating much random CTD.

 

There are billions of reasons Skyrim can CTD, but this is one of the most common causes so maybe try this first.

 

If you really don't want ENB on your system at all, there are older solutions like SSME:

Which you could also try. Still involves a bit of file editing, but is simpler and if you're not running / not planning to run ENB you might find it less of a headache.

Alright I did what you suggested and got a ENB and changed the ENB.local file the way you said but thats not the only problem whenever i enter buildings like The bannerd mare etc. Ill see it for about 1 second than CTD.

I just deleted and uninstalled Everything and reinstalling now...

That's probably for the best I guess, seeing as the CTDs were very 'specific' it's unlikely to be performance related. I had a similar problem a while back where I'd load a save and run in a particular direction and I'd always CTD. I went to that same location from another save and performed the same movement and didn't CTD.

 

Turned out I'd been so over obsessing about fixing that one CTD (constantly loading, saving, closing and re-loading the same game) that I'd cluttered the save file with duplicate running scripts and stuff. Trying to fix the CTD so hard was creating the CTD :')

 

I think I used the saved game script cleaner and then went inside somewhere, waited for 24h and then came out again. Saved, quit - re-loaded and the very specific CTD stopped happening...

 

Skyrim can be brain melting sometimes.

yes, indeed I fixed everything though and revised my mod list and haven't had a CTD sense unless I did something stupid.
