Chin spikes

Hello !

 

I'm currently making a dremora follower mod and I've got troubles for the last one since I never created any custom meshes. I would like some advices.

 

What I know about it :

  • I already installed 3ds max 2014, nifskope and niftool, they're working so far.
  • I'm learning 3ds basics on youtube and other tutorials
  • I extracted some meshes
  • I know more or less how it work
  • I know how to put new meshes/textures in CK and give them to an actor

I would like to make chin spikes as showed below because they're part of Staff's chara-design

So what I would like to get as advice to model them is :

  • Should I import a helm + malehead.nif and then erase the head once finished ?
  • Import a skeleton instead ?
  • Can I past over nif data from the spikes to a helm once done ?

It's been 2 weeks i'm making tries with blender // 3ds max and I kept some tutorials, a lot are about weapons.
