Random Freezes & Infinite Loading Screens [Win 8.1]

Hello Everyone,

I'm hoping that you can offer me some advice. In the past I've been very active in terms of modding Fallout Games, mostly 3 & NV, so I'm familiar with how those games and modding them works and also how glitchy they are.

I installed NV a few days back on my Windows 8.1 Laptop (which to be fair was never meant for gaming, so it struggles with running the game on medium to high settings).

After having spent 10-11 hours on my playthrough (according to my savegames), NV is now at a point where it regulary gets the infamous looped loading screen bug. But not only after loading my savegame, but also after entering/exiting areas, quicktraveling etc.,it also started freezing in totaly random locations.

I disabled some bigger mods (mostly New Vegas Uncut stuff) which affected the areas where it crashed, but to no success. The crashes are also not repetable, so i'm sure they're not tied to a specific location.

I already edited the .ini with the busethreadedai fix, which didn't help either.

Basically my game won't run for more than 45 without giving me the infinite loading screen. (I suspect the bug is tied to how often I change my environment) Can someone help?

Here is my FOMM loading order:

FalloutNV.esm
LonesomeRoad.esm
DeadMoney.esm
OldWorldBlues.esm
HonestHearts.esm
GunRunnersArsenal.esm

Yeah, I'll try that. The weird thing is, before installing NV, I played through Fallout 3 a few months back with no problems whatsoever. For what its worth, FOMM says my savgames are ok (marked as green).

Edit: I'll start a new game and play for 1-2h when I get home and keep you updated

Edit 2: Right, so I've tried both loading older saves and even starting a new game, but again the error occurred

Try first to fix your game files order: here is this for starters

  1. FalloutNV.esm
    DeadMoney.esm
    HonestHearts.esm
    OldWorldBlues.esm
    LonesomeRoad.esm
    GunRunnersArsenal.esm
    ClassicPack.esm
    MercenaryPack.esm
    TribalPack.esm
    CaravanPack.esm

That's the correct load order.

LonesomeRoad.esm
GunRunnersArsenal.esm
ClassicPack.esm
MercenaryPack.esm

oHUD.esm
DarNifiedUINV.esp
CASM.esp
The Mod Configuration Menu.esp
HUD Extended.esp
UHNV.esp
UHNV-More Mannequins.esp
UHNV-Honest Hearts.esp
UHNV-Dead Money.esp
UHNV-Lonesome Road.esp
UHNV-OWB.esp
PerkEveryLevel.esp
durability.esp
Wasteland Soldier - NV Edition.esp

If you need the old load order templates, I have them on line. you put them into a folder Fomm places into the games folder.

Just so you know, the data contains all the old mods when I captured it...I wish I had thought of it earlier.

but I have them anyway. there are two needed now to cover some things Done......by others.

Well, I've got a working version of NV right now, so it's ok for now. Looks like deleting FCO did the trick. Though I don't remotly see how that mod could have caused so much mayhem

Acknowledged:

FCO has a history most of us know about that we wish not to dwell on most of us know about that we wish not to well I.
