Any good 3D artists out there?

(I hope I'm posting this in the right section.

Edit: Also, you don't need to be that good at 3D, I should have just named this "Any 3D artists out there?", but now it's too late to change that.)

So, I made a design for a dagger and made a pretty decent 3D model of it, but I had some troubles with creating a normal map because I don't really understand the program I used so well... So, I'm wondering if there's any 3D artists out there who would like to work with me, creating 3D models from the designs I've drawn.

I have attached a file of a ancient nordic dagger design I drew, just so you can get an idea of my skill level. Please note that this design isn't finished, I don't have my computer right now so I had to retort to just taking a picture of my drawing for now. I'll get to color it once I have my computer.

I'm mainly going to design weapons, but maybe I'll draw some shields and armor as well (and jewerly). First I want to design an ancient nordic dagger, mace and warhammer (and maybe a shield), because I just noticed that the vanilla game doesn't include these weapons.

So, is anyone up for it? I would like to work with drawing concept art for games, so this would be good training, and it would be cool to have something to show when applying for a job.

It's very nice work, but people who can actually make something out of concepts are the more "valued". (Not more valuable; just rarer and usually don't need concepts - they have the skill to make something and make it off of concepts they find or something.)

Perhaps sign up for a larger project that has need of concept artists. Perhaps see the project Beyond Skyrim, if that interests you. See here:

It would be very good for your portfolio. If you're not interested in that and still want to build the portfolio, just draw a ton of stuff, varied, and put it on a site (see weebly or wix for something free) w/ contact info and it'll be your portfolio

Digital drawing is bigger than pen-and-paper nowadays, so perhaps check out a drawing tablet and Photoshop (or GIMP, though I consider PS superior it's expensiveish).

Thanks for the tip. :) I'm going to try to learn how to use 3D programs, so hopefully I'll be able to make these mods by myself in the future. And that drawing was just temporary, I'm much better at drawing on paper, but I'm planning to scan this picture into my computer and draw over it to create a higher quality digital version (inluding coloring it), if you understand what I mean. I feel like I'm not that great at explaining things. ^_^'

You might look up Made with Mischief. Software's cheap, and definitely one of the better digital drawing packages these days (though it's tough to use without a tablet). The advent of Adobe's Creative Cloud has definitely brought down the price of Photoshop (I pay $15USD per month for a Photoshop CC 2015 license that comes with a copy of Lightroom, though I'm not sure that offer is still available). As for your project itself, I won't create a model for you; the more self-reliant content creators that this community has, the better in my opinion. However, if you are interested, I will help guide you through the development process if I can, either in this thread or over PM. Depends on what modeling package you used in your first attempt.

The pieces of software for modding work that I know how to use are: Blender, xNormal, Photoshop (CS2 and later), Illustrator (CS3 and later), Crazybump, Inkscape, Substance Designer 4, Substance Painter (though I don't use it often). If you use any of these in your workflow, feel free to ask me questions.

Once school starts up again, we will be taught more in depth on how to create 3D models, so after that I hope I'll be able to create my own models. I'll look up some of those programs you mentioned, I think my biggest problem is that I'm impatient, when I try to start using a new program, I'm just too lazy to learn how to use it. ^_^' I just like klicking random buttons.
