Lodakiin
Hey everyone! I've been modding for many years now, but I have never actually released a Mod. I've helped work on projects like Shadow of Morrowind, but now I'm going to announce a new project I've been working on. The Elder Scrolls V: Arena. This is a renewal project for the first Elder Scrolls game, with an original story based upon the simple and cliche original one. If anyone wants to see what I've done so far in terms of script and story etc. you're welcome to ask any questions. Anyway, this idea is to rebuild the original Elder Scrolls game, as a story driven quest mod that covers the ten years that the Eternal Champion adventures throughout Tamriel, collecting the eight pieces of the Staff of Chaos. Yes, this is ambitious, yes this will take a long time, which is why I need as much help as I can get! Feel free to ask any questions. If you want to join the project, just throw me a PM! Have a good day all! EDIT: Website now up and running: http://tesvarena.weebly.com Edited July 11, 2015 by Lodakiin
Di0nysys
I imagine you're not planning on building all of Tamriel. Arena was a massive procedural game. If ur planning on having all those exotic locations in the game, I think going with small sized, relatively open pocket worlds could do the trick. Then you could string them along in a linear questline.
Lodakiin
Exactly. I've already got most of the zones organized, as well as a rough story as well. EDIT: By organized, I mean planned, not built :) Edited July 11, 2015 by Lodakiin
megageeklizzy
You should definitely make use of the 'regions' that Skyrim uses. That will make is far easier to generate the forests, deserts, swanps, etc. of Tamriel. I don't know that it would necessarily be impossible to fully remake Arena, but you would need a lot of dedicated people.
Di0nysys
It's not impossible but its a lot of work. Bethesda had a team of 100+ people and a budget of 50 Million to develop Skyrim. Beyond Skyrim is a project very similar in idea, but remaking the main story of Arena in a modern engine sounds pretty damn cool too.
