lalaldwad Posted July 19, 2015 Share Posted July 19, 2015 Hello, for awhile I have tried to get OBSE working correctly however when i start my game with the OBSE loader and then load up a save the game crashes and i am unable to play Oblivion with OBSE. The same thing happens when i launch Oblivion from Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM). the mods i have installed are: The Unoffical Patch, Quarl's Texture pack and Oblivion Reloaded. Oblivion Reloaded is the mod i wish to get working but i require OBSE to run the game with it enabled. I have installed the latest version of oblivion and the latyest version of OBSE so that rules them out of the question. My oblivion is installed in my program filesx86. I'm running windows 8.1 . forli Posted July 19, 2015 Share Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) As first rule, don't install oblivion in Program Files or Program Files x86 folders. Oblivion doesn't support UAC, but since both program folders are under UAC restrictions, you will get many problems. Uninstall it, and reinstall it in "C:\". Then: have you tried OBSE without mods? OBSE alone does nothing and never cause a crash. If you get a crash, the cause must be a mod or a plugin, or you're using the wrong OBSE version with the wrong game version or Steam/Not Steam installation. Finally: if OR is the cause, read the readme and the FAQs. There are many wrong settings/behaviours/conflicts which could cause a CTD and the readme/FAQs explain everything. lalaldwad Posted July 19, 2015 Author Share Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) Alright was following your steps and I uninstalled and then reinstalled Oblivion in C:/ and now when i start the game with the default launcher it can't get past the opening cutscene.
