Making an NPC invulnerable to dismemberment/explosion?

Hey all,

 

I am working on a mod and have some skeleton NPCs wearing different armours. I have got this to work fine except for one thing, dismemberment. The problem is the NPCs can be dismembered/have limbs exploded which of course shows blood effects. This is undesirable because the NPCs resemble skeletons, which obviously don't bleed.

 

So what I am asking is: Is it possible to prevent NPCs from being able to have their limbs exploded/dismembered? And if the answer is yes does anyone know how to achieve this.
