New Perks: Changing elemental colour based on perk?

Hey guys

I'm trying to make a few new perks for the destruction tree, and can't quite figure out if it's possible but does anyone know if it is possible to change the art assets of an elemental school when a perk is taken? Like all spells with the keyword MagicDamageFire would change from the regular fire colour to say purple once the perk was taken by the player. So that even other fire spells from other mods are influenced by this.

You can use SKSE functions to change the art objects associated with magic effects:

The problem with trying to do this for other mods is that those mods might use their own custom art objects, and changing them might make the spell look wrong or even break the effect. But as long as the mod uses a vanilla asset you can change it.
