oddgit
Hi, i am having a hell of a time configuring Skyrim to run smoothly in Whiterun. I have tried many options and guides, but can not seem to get it to run smoothly in Whiterun, giant FPS drop. I have the Real Vision ENB and have most of the stuff turned off or low. here are my system specs. GeForce GTX Titan X (12gb VRAM)intel i7-5930k 3.5gHz1920x1280@60Hz
jones177
Hi I use a 980 ti 6gb & the Real Vision setup did not work for me.My old 980 ran perfectly with the standard RealVision setup. I was shocked when the 980 ti didn't. This is what I changed. enblocal.ini ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true This got rid of mini freezes. I switched on ambient occlusion. This got rid of stutter. I us the drivers Vsync, not ENB or game. I replaced my Skyrim inis with recommended tweaks from the RealVision page to inis with no ENB tweaks. For some strange reason the 98 ti runs better with Distant object detail on ultra I also rolled back to ENB 266 but I only did this as a precaution. I went from unplayable to silky smooth. I did all my tests in the Whiterun area. At 1440 with ENB the drops are less than at 1080. At 4k there are no drops at all.At 1080 the severity of the drops were the same with a 670, 780, 970 & 980. At 1440 I don't feel the drops at all. I only see them on the fps counter. The drops are from 60fps to 50fps average outside of Whiterun. One of the tests that I do is to go to the top of the stairs leading to Dragonreach & look out upon the city. At 1080 22fps, at 1440 24fps & at 4k 30fps. I have no clue why this is. I always thought it was a cpu thing since I used all the cards mentioned with the same i7 but the 4k result is just weird. Later
Ianc1
Are you getting fps drop or stuttering. You have put that your monitor is 60Hz, the card will put out more then that, so you may be getting micro stuttering. try an enb but lock the fps to 60. you can also try borderless window. just use the fake borderless window mod to go full screen. these helped me when I got my r9 295x2 gpu.
