The Elder Scrolls Lore - On the Matter of Dragonborn and Emperor's

I've read on different Websites and TES Websites that Marten Septim did not have any children. Well I am going to say my opinions and theories on the matter.

It says that the septim bloodline was started by Tiber Septim (Talos) and that the first dragonborn was Saint Alessia.

My theory is that their are multiple types of dragonborn (so far there are two) you people forget that gods can do anything they want and also have responsibilities. I have thought about this for some time and have come up with this.

Their were two types of dragonborn. One design by Akatosh for creating the Imperial Empire the other designed for heroes meant to be the protectors of tamirel in case of near cataclysmic events. We all know that the septim bloodline was started by a dragonborn and the dragons blood has been passed down through the septim bloodline though the heirs gain a normal soul and not a dragon soul. Before the Empire and before a proper civilization and ruler of tamirel. Tamirel was ruled by the Ayleids and as stated in the lore were also known as "Heartland High Elves". After the Oblivion Crisis tamriel and more specifically the empire was left without a "Proper Ruler" if you get my meaning and was ruled by "The Aldmeri Dominion" although they rule indirectly. Afterwords in the year 4E 201 a dragonborn appears in what the greybeards call "The Turning of the Age". They say history has its ways of repeating itself... maybe it is just now repeating it self during the events of skyrim? If you guys catch my meaning. Meaning that the skyrim dragonborn could be the next tiber septim and start his own line with his own empire.

Could this theory be the correct predicition for TES 6?

Post your opinion. :geek: The thinking glasses are on!

I'm saying that the Skyrim Player is similar in more ways than one to tiber septim. Sense the amulet of kings was used to close the breach between tamriel and oblivion their will never possibly be another TES4. Yet the prophecy states "If the empire should falter in it's duties". If Akatosh should lower the barrier between tamriel and oblivion again... I fear we will have no way of closing it. The Elder Scrolls says that the amulet of kings is needed to close the barrier. But that all changed when Marten Sacrificed his life so we of tamriel could live.

I'm saying that Bethesda is trying to tell a story... and this story is NOT over yet I am very sure of that...

The daedra have more ways than one to return to tamriel. Just like the Skyrim Trailer says "Their defeat was merely a delay" I fear this was also true to the ending of Oblivion.

I'm also saying that Bethesda could be taking the story a different route... We all forget about Baldur's Gate sometimes and this is to be expected.

Imagine how the fans of skyrim would react if we had to import our skyrim character to the next elder scrolls game.

And yes you've guessed it right... Bethesda could finally be taking the route of the Baldur's Gate Series.

Obviously they won't take the linear path of the Baldur's Gate Trilogy... maybe they will do this over the course of four games or maybe more or maybe less.

This is for Bethesda to decide.

Imagine how the fans would react if we had to build our characters up over the course of a few games. If bethesda decides to take this route with the story and the developers treat their own series with more respect by getting their programming skills down. Maybe the haters will treat the series with more respect.

This series has a LOT of potential! I can tell you that... and yet bethesda chooses to ignore this fact.

I am a huge fan of this series and have been playing The Elder Scrolls sense morrowind. After oblivion I wanted to find out more about the series. Where did it originate? What year did the first game come out? And so on... I have been following the series ever sense.

So far, Beth hasn't had any continuity between player characters from game to game. For the most part, the previous PC is 'legendary', so, something similar. Given the time span between Oblivion, and Skyrim, it is impractical to think that any but PC not of Elvish descent would even still be around........ humans just don't live that long. Granted, Oblivion was just a few short years after Morrowind.... But, each game has been stand-alone, you needn't have played any of the previous games to get the full experience of the current game. I really don't see that changing.... Given that by the end of the game, most PC's are god-like in their power in any event. Would be tough to make a new game that was even remotely challenging for them.... and resetting them back to first level would just piss folks off. :)

I still do not understand how my Redguard holy knight became Dragonborn. Tiber Septim's bloodline died with Martin. Also, I do not wnat to be Dragonborn again. It made no difference. The majority of the people still treated moe poorly and the dragons kept spawning after the main quest was done. There was no time line to defeat Alduin. I could have ignored him and the world would have been safe. To me, most of the plot in Skyrim made no sense.

As I said before the skyrim dragonborn player could have been chosen to start a new line and that the stormcloaks are the rising of the new empire. Who's to say that the old empire didn't have a good run right? At least they tried right? They did awesome with the oblivion crisis but the bad stuff all started when marten died.

They can't end the series with skyrim. Bethesda has a story to tell. And by the looks of it we are FAR from finished.

1. A new empire has to be formed or a reform of the old one.

2. Something has to be done about the Thalmor and the Aldmeri Dominion.

3. I have an natural sense about these kinds of things. As with any great story "The Lord of the Rings" "Star Wars" "The Hobbit" "The Matrix" etc. all of them tell a story and the story is only as good as how fast it sells. If it sells more they will make more. If it sells less the it will probably be either taken up by a new company or be lost to time.

A storm is coming to Tamriel I can feel it in my bones.

Gandalf - "Questions... Questions that need answering" - The Fellowship of the Ring

He is right. We have questions that need answering.

- Where have the dwemer gone?

- Who and where is the incredibly devious and powerful person behind these disappearances and strange and terrible things?

- What are we going to do now that the septem bloodline is dead and alduin is finished? (assuming you've all finished skyrim)

If you guy's and gals know of any or can think of any that you would like answered please post! :geek:

  • 3 months later...

Told ya... TES6 direct sequel to skyrim or "Skyrim 2"

The fact that the newbies call the next game skyrim 2 obviously shows that they have not played the previous game or have not seen the big obvious "The Elder Scrolls V" above "SKYRIM".

And you all forget that the second game was called "Chapter II".

Which clearly suggests that the games are a series of chapters in a story.

Take notice that bethesda is actually taking their time with this game and making it in 4 years instead of 2.

That's a bit longer that oblivion took sense there are rumors of them creating a new engine.

And what better way to release an elder scrolls game that as a supprise!

On the subject of the Dwemer:

In the Dragonborn DLC the Dunmer wizard Neloth has dialogue about the Dwemer and their knowledge. He mentions it in context with Hermaeus Mora while the player is searching for the black books in Nchardak. Hermaeus had his own realm and Miraak and dragons were being held there.

It is feasible the Dwemer were taken by Hermaeus; Hermaeus makes one-sided deals with mortals, the Dwemer abandoned the gods for their own 'gods' of logic and science, the Dwemer were technologically advanced but morally corrupt.

Since the 'lore' is open as to what happened to the Dwemer, the Hermaeus connection could fit; they wanted knowledge Hermaeus had and they struck a deal. The Dwemer abandon the gods, flourish with Hermaeus' knowledge, and then centuries later he came back to collect and the Dwemer vanish. For TES6 maybe the Dwemer return somehow, or already have when the game starts.

Concerning the Empire:

Anything could happen and be reasonably written in for TES6. Look at human history in our own world where monarchs are toppled or replaced with distant cousins or bastard children, trusted warlords stage coups and start their own dynasties, etc. Whenever there is a power vacuum someone will step in to fill it. The Empire could even become a representative democracy or a republic. The Hellenic Greeks did it, but it didn't work as smoothly as some people might think. The ancient Romans were better at it but the line between the haves and have-nots grew wider, so it really didn't work out well either. The Medes bloodline of the 4th Era would end and something else would take its place.

Concerning the Third Aldmeri Dominion:

With the Thalmor political successes of the 4th Era and their military history and propaganda (they closed the Oblivion Gates that appeared in the Summerset Isles and think they are the ones who really stopped the Oblivion Crisis); then it would be reasonable to assume they could establish a socialist/fascist style oligarchy where they control major aspects of people's lives and only seek to advance themselves and their agenda. The races of men would be second or third class and there might be even ethnic cleansing simply to get rid of humans once and for all. At best there would be an Aldmeri Inquisition that disposes of any and everyone who doesn't think like they think, worship who they ant them to worship, or otherwise be undesireable (concentration camps and pogroms). BUT in most real world instances of this happening there is always a resistance movement or outside governments seeking to stop it eventually. This has potential for game play as agent or resistance fighter so I think it would be feasible.

Concerning the Stormcloaks and the Skyrim Civil War:

From a story standpoint the Civil War is a dead end. There is no way for Bethesda to write around it or the three options available to Skyrim players; completely ignore the arc and the quests, join the Empire and defeat Ulfric, or join the Stormcloaks and defeat the Empire. There is no way for Bethesda to account for any of that so I think the Civil War will be ignored in TES6. I doubt it will even be mentioned in game books or be referenced to at all since there is no way for Bethesda to know what players did or didn't do.

The Dark Brotherhood Quest Arc:

Did the player kill Astrid and finish off the DB or did he join them and assassinate Tidus Mede II? Did the player ignore the DB quest line and not play it? Those are loose ends Bethesda can't account for.

What I think:

TES6 will be in a new setting and Bethesda won't revisit parts of the game world already covered extensively in previous games. The Bloodmoon expansion (TES3) did use Solstheim but it wasn't as fleshed out as it was in Skyrim, imo. Possible locations for TES6 could be Black Marsh or Elsweyr; Valenwood is another possibility since those three provinces haven't been touched on since 1994 and Arena. OR Bethesda could do what they did with FO4 and just revisit Cyrodiil again. Who really knows at this point?

EDIT: Sorry for the long post. I started typing and got carried away.
