GECK mesh/nif import error triangle

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have been trying to edit and import meshes into fallout new vegas, but I always get an error triangle

Please help. This is how I did:

  1. I extracted the meshes with "Fallout Mod Manager"
  2. I opened the nif with "nifskope" and extracted the mesh as an .obj
  3. I imported the .obj into blender and started editing it
  4. When I was done I exported the mesh as an .obj
  5. And imported it into "nifskope" and saved it as a nif in "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data\meshes\weapons\Mace"
  6. After that I started "GECK" and made an item with my nif/mesh as the model but this error message came up:

Please, if you know anything I can do.... Please tell me

Thanks in advance

Why are you importing the mesh as an .obj? Blender will import/export the mesh as a .nif file.

If you are not using Blender 2.49 for exporting, you are using the wrong version. You also need NifSkrips, PyFFI and Python.

I have tried to use Blender 2.49 with NifSkrips, PyFFI and Python before but there was the same error.

And why shouldnt I import it as an .obj? As I said I used NifSkope to save it as a .nif.

Since blender will import/export .nif files, why go to the extra work and the possibility that something will go wrong. Converting from a .nif to an .obj and back again is unnecessary.

Well, I did the converting because it gave me the error. Therefore I tried to export and import with NifSkope.

But that didn't work either. Do you know anything that I can do?
