Trees disappearing as character walks towards them?

I don't know what is happening, but I just installed Morrowind along with Overhaul 3.0, and when I'm walking, Trees disappear in the distance, and where i'm standing there should be trees around me, but I can only see their shadows. Here are the Mods:

Update MGSO, particularly MGE XE (as that's where I think your problem is). See OP: Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds & Graphics 3.0 Thread #7 (Bethsoft)

 

Re-run MGE XE's Distant Lands wizard.

 

I re ran Distant lands, and they're still fading out, but now instead of spontaneously, they're becoming a little transparent before they dissapear

 

I think something went wrong with static size and End distance values. Try checking 'Auto check other distances' in 'Distant Land' tab of MGEXE. Also, make sure you got the latest MGEXE 0.9.10 version. And then install the beta from here.One of the beta fixed the wrong calculation which causes dissappearance of some distant statics too early.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread but did anyone ever solve this problem?

I followed all the suggestions above but haven't been able to fix it. I'm running Morrowind with Overhaul 3.0

I tried all of this:
- Update of MGE XE to version 0.9.10 (I was originally running version 0.9.0)
- Update of MGE XE to the latest version 0.10.0b24
- Downgrade of MGE XE to a previous beta version 0.10.0b16

I've recreated Distant Lands soooo many times with all the imaginable parameter combinations...but I still have the disappearance problem of several trees.

At least I was able to identify the mod from where the misbehaving trees are from: "vality's balmora addon"
I even found one particular tree to use for my testing: flora_tree_wg_07

I suffer from the same problem as moink1234: from far away trees look ok, but when I get closer, the leaves of a given tree would start disappearing and past a certain distance the whole tree disappears. This is particularly noticeable at Balmora (when using "vality's balmora addon").

I'd really appreciate ANY help to solve this really annoying issue.

When an object appears in the distance and then disappears when you get close, it's usually because the mod containing that object has been selected in Distant Lands but isn't active in the game itself for some reason. There have been a number of occasions when I've installed a mod that added new buildings, ran Distant Lands, and then disabled the mod later. I would be able to see the buildings in the distance, but they would disappear as I got closer to them.

Assuming that you have Vality's Balmora Addon selected when you play the game, something is preventing the game from recognizing that it's an active mod.

The "Vurt's Ashlands Overhaul.esp" missing or corrupt. It can be a side effect if you use a mod with a different language.

I ran into this EXACT same issue: double trees, branches/canopy disappearing as you get closer to them. In my case, it turns out this was caused by an option in a mod called "Morrowind Optimization Patch", namely "MGE XE Addon".

 

After I disabled "MGE XE Addon" in the "Morrowind Optimization Patch", I had no more issues with disappearing/overlapping trees. More information here: https://github.com/Tyler799/Morrowind-2020/issues/144
