Darker nights

I was curious how night is made in F4 and I am disappointed as I suspected I will be.
At full moon night looks way to bright. It is not night. I was not ever in tropics but even there I bet nights are not that freaking bright. Another bethesda bow down to casual that cry when he cannot see something in game so even cave without any light source must be lighten up so casual will not cry but I am true gamer and I like believability :)
COME ON this game needs true night! I am not scared now! :)

So please some good moder please make dark nights because I crave to feel scared in this game. Now I feel safe as tourist and I play at survival difficulty!

Yesterday I was about to create a topic like this.

Meanwhile one of the modders has been making a darker nights mod:

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/127/

I have to admit that it's darker than I would have made myself if I had the modding abilities, which I obviously don't have.

So I'm using the FX mod below, which also makes the nights a little darker.

If you want to remove the film grain effect in that FX preset, go to the posts tab on that mod's page to find instructions.

Thanx for that links.

I hoped for in game mod like I remember doing it by myself for F3 instead of some kind of injectors BUT I like it from what I see on screens.

Definitely will do for now or maybe for longer (testing required :) )
I prefer this first one with dark nights but your choice is also way better than default bethesta JOKE nights ;)

Thanx again! :)

I have my perfect realistic night mods now.

I am Very Happy how now my nights look like

I am using this mods:

Stalker Lightning ( Photorealistic Wastland) by Garny

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/86/?
reShade that makes my game looks realistic and it makes nights darker but still not true night darkness present.

Darker Nights by unforbidable

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/191/?
This makes nights darker.

Currently this modder added more flavours so I dont know which one I use but still I had to tweak some setting in reShade file to make environment not totally black.
In my case setting #define Levels_black_point to 21 did the work. by moders default it was set to 28
Now I dont want to bother and test if I could do darker nights just by tweaking reShade #define Levels_black_point value to higher values. Maybe it would help.
Maybe one day I will see if that can deal with making nights dark without extra mods.

Of course it is very dependent on users LCD matrix and his brightness, contrast, gamma settings but in my case I managed to achieve truly deep dark in open places. I spent quite some nights outside in real life so I have comparison and expectations to games nights

Bethesda really sucks at making good looking graphics and believable nights. Modders are true electronic heroes for true gamers and dont bother to please casuals like majority of game developers do.
Not many game creators take this important aspect seriously.

Good approach was made by The Forest developers. To bad that handful of game developers focus on making nights scary.

unforbidable's Dark Nights mod is very cool for the time being, but I noticed it seemed to disable the lighting for night more than it darkened the dark parts. This made the world feel too flat with black ambient lighting to me. Hopefully a better solution can be found before the toolkit releases.
