First specs of my potato:

-Intel core 2 Quad @2.5GHz

-4GB ddr2 RAM @400MHz

-GTX 560 1GB

I know my potato is way below minimum system requirements but betwen low settings and ini tweaks i can run the game smoothly.

Hovever after playing for anything between 10min and 1hour my fps drops to as low as 5, it doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing, be it open field, settlement or a small interior cell. The fps goes to s#*! either way, I tried all the ini tweak I could think of but nothing works. First time it happend after playing for 1h, but lately its been hitting after 10-15min. I don't mind restarting the game every 1h or so but every 10min is just f*#@ing stupid.

i hafe the same issue here no solution jet..

Hi there, im encountering a problem with Fallout 4. After some time fluently playable with 72 Frames (144Hz Monitor) Or Fixed to 60;

it happens that the sound starts to stutter and the grafiks and the whole game is not playable anymore. This even stays after restarting the game and it even effekts other games like Dark Souls 2 (which on itself never had such a issue)

After rebooting everything is woking again..

anybody else has this problem and found a solution jet?

My Rig Intel I7 6700k Asus ROG Maximus VIII 16GB RAM DDR4@3000 GSkill 3000 Gforce GTX 980 Samsung SM951 M2-SSD

never had a issue like this bevore except with other Computers and Fallout New Vegas or Oblivion so i assume its a Bathesta issue.. that should be known.. in NewVegas Borderless Window helped but not here..

Anything i can do to play longer then 1-2 Hours and dont need to start new?

Besides it seems loading often makes this issue happens faster..

Sounds like a memory leak. Another game that currently does this to annoying degree is the new ANNO. If I remember correctly the Stutter Fixer mod, the ENB mod and another that I can't remember the name of made for previous Beth games also fixed some of the memory leak issues so playing it at length never met with ever lower fps and inevitable CTDs. I wonder if the same errors remain? Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I think I may have found semi-fix by changing bPreemptivelyUnloadCells to 1 it doesn't work every time but I was able to play for almost 2h, whenever my fps started dropping Quicksave followed by Quickload fixed my fps in 5-15 sec. Now this doesn't work every time and it could be just a fluke, Ill test it more tomorrow since my back is killing me right now

edit: So it turns out that Sip was right I'm now 97% sure its a memory leak, I also found better solution then bPreemptivelyUnloadCells, in form of AdvencedSystem Care 8 PRO. ASC8 PRO comes with SmartRAM tool which can clear your ram automaticly(by default it doesn't clean up your RAM when CPU/HDD usage is high but you can turn that off so no biggie) I obviously get preformance hit when it does clean up my RAM but it's better than game dropping to fps and eventually crashing. So thanks Sip you were a huge help. <3 Also I was able to crank the game up to medium settings(except godrays) and I'm still getting smooth framerate

Edit2: ENBoost fixed the issue and improved my preformance. Boris saves the day ..again :|
