This is a postprocessing shader mod that works with many, many directx-based games. ReShade is another postfx shader mod that incorporates parts of SweetFX, so could also be used to help you guys out. It affects color correction for the entire frame, and you can balance some colors so that reds are less aparrant as "red" and might appear as another color that is easier for someone to see.
